Location: Plymouth Hybrid
Salary: £50,000 £70,000

We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Software Engineer with strong Java expertise to join a leading technology and professional services organisation, working on complex software development and transformation programmes.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer who can combine strong hands-on development skills with experience across the full software lifecycle, designing and delivering secure, scalable and modern software solutions within Agile environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and deliver bespoke software solutions.
• Work across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and architecture through to implementation, deployment, training and support.
• Develop full stack applications using Java, TypeScript, JavaScript and React.
• Utilise open-source libraries, frameworks and components to deliver modern software capabilities.
• Build and maintain continuous integration pipelines using tools such as GitLab to monitor software quality and security.
• Deploy software systems across public and private cloud environments, including AWS and Azure.
• Work within Agile-focused teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Contribute to technical design and architecture decisions across complex projects.
• Engage with clients and senior stakeholders, with opportunities to lead teams and client engagements depending on experience.
• Support the ongoing maintenance, enhancement and evolution of software systems.
  

Experience You'll Need

• Significant commercial experience as a Full Stack Software Engineer.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java.
• Commercial experience with TypeScript, JavaScript and React.
• Experience working with cloud technologies, particularly AWS and Azure.
• Good understanding of software development, testing and modern engineering practices.
• Experience with CI/CD and tools such as GitLab.
• Experience working across the full software development lifecycle.
• Comfortable working within Agile development environments.
• Previous consultancy experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
• Ability to obtain UK security clearance
