Summary
The Principal Infrastructure & Cloud Architect is a senior individual contributor responsible for defining and governing enterprise architecture for global hybrid infrastructure, Azure cloud platforms, enterprise networking, and AI-enabled infrastructure services. This role establishes secure, resilient, scalable, cost-effective, and responsible target-state architectures, reference designs, engineering guardrails, automation patterns, observability requirements, and AI platform integration standards across data centers, co-location environments, public cloud, and approved enterprise AI platforms.
The role serves as a technical authority for complex cross-domain decisions across identity, network, compute, storage, security, cloud, and AI platform integration while partnering with Enterprise Architecture, Cybersecurity, Application/Product teams, Manufacturing IT, and business stakeholders to reduce risk, strengthen recovery readiness, improve service health, and optimize total cost of ownership in a 24x7x365 environment.
Responsibilities
- Architecture leadership, standards, and governance: Define hybrid infrastructure, Azure cloud, enterprise network, and AI-enabled platform architecture strategy; govern reference architectures, paved-road patterns, reusable templates, architecture decision records, design reviews, and approved AI use patterns with responsible AI, data classification, auditability, and lifecycle controls.
- Hybrid cloud, AI-ready platforms, and enterprise networking: Architect Azure foundations, AI-ready landing zones, hybrid compute, virtualization, storage/backup, identity dependencies, monitoring, network connectivity, SD-WAN/SASE, hub-and-spoke, ExpressRoute/VPN, Private Link, segmentation, routing, DNS/DHCP, and Zero Trust-aligned access patterns.
- Security, reliability, resilience, and compliance readiness: Partner with Cybersecurity, Privacy, Legal, and Enterprise Architecture to ensure secure-by-design platforms, approved data handling, threat modeling, risk assessments, least privilege, encryption, vulnerability remediation, compliance evidence, observability, SLO/SLAs, DR/BCP, RTO/RPO, dependency mapping, and AI service telemetry or safety signals where applicable.
- Automation, FinOps, modernization, and technology influence: Establish infrastructure-as-code, automation, CI/CD quality gates, drift management, tagging, budgets, rightsizing, lifecycle management, migration/standardization patterns, and vendor or integrator guidance that balances security, reliability, supportability, responsible AI adoption, and total cost of ownership.
- Vision-setting and alignment with business strategy.
- Oversight of compliance, risk, and organizational culture.
- Collaborate across departments to support organizational goals.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings and initiatives.
- Lead or support special projects aligned with departmental objectives.
- Demonstrate initiative in identifying process improvements or automation opportunities.
- Serve as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepare reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s Degree with 12-15 years of related experience
- Fluency in English is required.
- Minimum 12 years of progressive IT infrastructure experience, including 8+ years architecting enterprise hybrid infrastructure, cloud platforms, and enterprise networking in a 24x7 environment; 5+ years owning architecture standards and governance across network, identity, compute, storage, security, cloud, and AI-enabled platform capabilities; and proven success influencing cross-functional delivery without direct authority.
- Principal-level architecture leadership across Azure, hybrid infrastructure, enterprise networking, cloud networking, SD-WAN/SASE, Zero Trust access, virtualization, storage/backup, identity integration, monitoring, and cost management.
- Security, compliance, reliability, and operations expertise, including secure-by-design architecture, hardening, least privilege, vulnerability management, audit evidence, SLO/SLAs, observability, ITIL practices, RCA, DR/BCP, and continual improvement.
- Infrastructure-as-code, automation, FinOps, and AI platform integration knowledge, including Terraform, Bicep/ARM, PowerShell, Python, CI/CD, drift detection, tagging, rightsizing, AI-ready landing zones, secure data access, content safety, model/agent inventory, responsible AI guardrails, risk assessment, auditability, human oversight, and ongoing monitoring.

- The anticipated base pay range for this position is $140,000 - $200,000 yearly. The actual salary varies based on applicant's location, education, experience, skills, abilities, and other legitimate business factors.
- This position is also eligible to participate in the Hollister Corporate Bonus Plan.
