WSI is looking for a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer (Azure) to help shape the future of our cloud environment. In this high-impact role, you will build practical, scalable Azure patterns, strengthen automation and governance, and partner with talented technology teams to modernize how we design, deploy, and manage cloud solutions. This salaried position will report to an IT Manager.
DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Design and improve Terraform modules, state strategy, and deployment boundaries.
- Own Azure identity patterns, including app registrations, managed identities, federation, and RBAC.
- Improve Azure DevOps CI/CD patterns for secure, repeatable deployments.
- Maintain standards for naming, tagging, diagnostics, security, and exception handling.
- Automate Azure governance, policy, subscription structure, and cost controls.
- Partner with developers on cloud patterns for apps, services, APIs, and authentication.
- Advise on hosting and deployment approaches for Blazor and business applications.
- Support Microsoft Fabric patterns for identity, access, capacity, pipelines, and networking.
- Assess Azure technical debt and prioritize improvements by risk and value.
- Partner with Infrastructure on tenant, subscription, network, AWS backup, and migration planning.
- Strong Azure identity and least-privilege access experience.
- Hands-on Terraform experience with modules, state, drift, and deployment strategy.
- Experience building reusable cloud environments and patterns.
- Knowledge of private endpoints, DNS, hub-and-spoke networking, and application gateways.
- Ability to explain tradeoffs and collaborate with technical teams.
- Strong understanding of Azure governance, cost, security, and operations.
- Ability to influence teams and raise cloud engineering standards.
- Senior-level experience in cloud platform engineering, infrastructure, or DevOps.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Container Apps, Functions, Service Bus, Azure SQL, API Management, Microsoft Fabric, or Blazor.
- Experience supporting enterprise systems, SaaS platforms, data platforms, or operational technology.
- Experience working with consultants, architecture reviewers, or escalation partners.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent hands-on experience considered.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, up to 8 hours per day, at a desk in front of a computer screen.
- Proficient use of a keyboard, mouse, and monitor, as well as the ability to type, scroll, and click efficiently.
- Occasional light lifting and carrying of objects up to 20 pounds, such as office supplies or small equipment.
- Ability to move within an office, including occasional walking, bending, reaching, and climbing short flights of stairs.
- Clear communication, both verbal and written, including phone conversations, virtual meetings, and face-to-face communication.
- Adequate vision to read documents, use computer screens, and navigate office space.
- Ability to work in an environment with moderate noise, such as printers, telephones, and office conversations.
