🚀 We’re Hiring: Senior Software Engineer — AI & Fintech

Note: This Role is 100% on-site at our office in Ikorodu, Lagos.

BAFF is looking for a strong Senior Software Engineer to join our team and help build the next generation of financial products across Africa.

We’re looking for someone who can work across React Native, Node.js, databases, and AI — someone who enjoys turning ideas into reliable products that real users depend on.

What you’ll work on

• Build and maintain React Native mobile applications for our fintech products.
• Develop scalable backend services and APIs using Node.js.
• Design and integrate REST APIs and backend services.
• Work confidently with SQL databases, including database design, queries, relationships, indexing, and performance optimization.
• Integrate AI/LLM capabilities into products and workflows to solve real business and customer problems.
• Build secure, reliable systems for payments, lending, credit, and other financial services.
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve system performance and reliability.
• Participate in architecture and technical design decisions.
• Review code and help maintain high engineering standards.
• Collaborate with product, design, and other engineers to turn requirements into working products.

What we’re looking for

• Strong professional experience with React Native.
• Strong backend development experience with Node.js.
• Good understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript and modern development practices.
• Solid understanding of SQL databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Experience designing and consuming REST APIs.
• Understanding of authentication, authorization, security, and API best practices.
• Practical experience working with AI tools, APIs, or LLM-based applications.
• Good understanding of Git and modern software development workflows.
• Experience with cloud platforms, Docker, CI/CD, or microservices is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, production-ready code.
• Comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with a product-focused team.

• Fintech, payments, lending, or credit products
• OpenAI/LLM APIs or other AI platforms
• AI agents and automation
• PostgreSQL performance optimization
• AWS or other cloud platforms
