About The Role
In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping the core architecture of our Fintech Platform. You will work in our Consumer Lending team to build, optimize, and scale the backend microservices that drive our financial operations. This is a unique opportunity for a talented engineer who is passionate about secure, high-performance financial systems and has experience in building solutions that handle complex payment, compliance, and disbursement workflows.
Technology Stack:
- We are technology agnostic and value candidates with diverse backgrounds. While familiarity with the following is helpful, your willingness to learn and adapt is paramount:
- Front-end: React, HTTP, HTML/DOM, JavaScript, CSS, AJAX
- Back-end: Python, Flask/FastAPI, REST APIs, Redis, SQL, gRPC
- Cloud: Google Cloud services (Firestore, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Google Artifact Registry, Cloud Run, BigQuery, Cloud Composer, etc.)
- Infrastructure: Kubernetes, Terraform, NewRelic, PagerDuty
- Platform Architecture & Development: Architect and implement scalable backend microservices inside the Consumer Lending Team.
- Infrastructure & Scalability: Design and manage infrastructure capable of handling millions of daily requests while maintaining the highest standards of security and performance.
- Cloud Integration: Utilize Google Cloud services and industry-standard tools to build and maintain distributed systems.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, operations, compliance, and other business units to deliver holistic financial solutions.
- Mentorship & Growth: Mentor junior developers and promote best practices across the engineering team.
- Continuous Improvement: Leverage user feedback and system analytics to refine and iterate on platform capabilities.
- 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Fluent or advanced English.
- Proven track record of building, shipping, and iterating on software applications, particularly in the Fintech domain.
- Solid foundation in algorithms and data structures.
- Experience designing and implementing web services, including REST APIs.
- Familiarity with architectural patterns such as Hexagonal Architecture, Event-Driven Architecture, and practices like A/B Testing, Feature Flags, and Gradual Rollouts.
- Domain Expertise: Experience in building and maintaining payment systems, financial disbursement solutions, or compliance-driven platforms is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of security protocols, compliance standards, and KYC/AML processes.
- A passion for developing products that make a real impact on millions.
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying abreast of emerging technologies.
- Excellent collaboration and prioritization skills in a team-oriented environment.
- Curiosity and/or experience in Fintech is a plus (equivalent competencies will also be considered).
