ERP Solution Architect (D365 Focus)

Lead assessment, architecture governance, and technical optimization of enterprise ERP solutions with a primary focus on Microsoft Dynamics 365. Review system architecture, customizations, integrations, and deployment processes to ensure scalability, security, and operational efficiency. Serve as the technical authority across ERP transformations, balancing business requirements with long-term platform sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Solution Governance

• Assess and define end-to-end ERP solution architecture
• Review current-state application landscape and identify architectural gaps
• Establish architecture standards, development guidelines, and governance processes
• Ensure alignment between business processes and system design
• Lead architecture review boards and approve technical designs

Customization & Code Audit

• Conduct technical reviews of custom developments, extensions, and integrations
• Audit existing source code quality, maintainability, and adherence to best practices
• Identify technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and scalability risks
• Evaluate customizations versus standard platform capabilities
• Recommend remediation plans and modernization approaches

ERP & Integration Architecture

• Design integration strategies between ERP and surrounding systems including:

  • MES
  • CRM
  • WMS
  • PLM
  • Finance Systems
  • HR Systems
  • Customer Portals
  • Data Platforms

• Define API, middleware, and event-driven architectures

• Review data flows and integration patterns

DevOps / CI-CD Governance

• Assess software delivery lifecycle and release management processes
• Review CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies
• Recommend branching models, code review practices, testing automation, and release governance
• Improve deployment reliability and reduce production risk

Performance & Stability

• Analyze application performance and system health
• Evaluate database architecture and optimization opportunities
• Review batch jobs, integrations, data synchronization, and processing workloads
• Identify root causes of recurring production issues

Security & Compliance

• Review application security architecture
• Assess role-based access controls and segregation of duties
• Ensure alignment with enterprise cybersecurity standards
• Support audit and compliance activities

Technical Leadership

• Mentor development teams and technical leads
• Serve as escalation point for complex technical issues
• Support vendor evaluations and technology selection decisions
• Provide recommendations for future-state architecture roadmaps

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years in enterprise application architecture or ERP solution delivery
• 5+ years working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, SCM, CE, or related enterprise platforms
• Strong experience reviewing enterprise software architecture and custom application development
• Experience performing technical assessments, code reviews, and architecture audits
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and architecture patterns
• Experience with ERP integrations and enterprise system landscapes
