Job Details:

Enterprise Architect – OMS Platform (Composable Commerce)

Experience: 12+ years, with demonstrated architecture/solutioning ownership (not only hands-on delivery) across at least 3–4 years.

Engagement Model: Client-facing. Works directly with client Technology, Business, and ISV/Product Partner teams as the architectural anchor for the engagement.

Primary Product Context: Composable OMS platforms, with preference for Burgeon OMS. Standalone OMS product experience or OMS capability embedded within an ERP suite (e.g., Oracle EBS) are both relevant.

Location: Guangzhou

Language Proficiency: Mandarin and English (Both required).

Working Hours: Core delivery hours, plus flexible overlap with PST for client leadership meetings, governance forums, and handoffs.

Role Purpose

The Enterprise Architect acts as the architectural anchor between the client’s Business, Technology, and ISV/Product Partner teams on a composable OMS platform program.

The role is accountable for translating business intent into a scalable technical landscape, owning solution direction from discovery and architecture definition through delivery governance and production stability.

The architect is expected to actively shape scope and commercial outcomes, driving decisions on what should be configured out-of-the-box (OOB) versus custom-built, while minimizing customization wherever the platform’s native capability can meet the need.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and own end-to-end enterprise architecture across OMS core, extension microservices, integration layers, and downstream systems.

• Translate business and functional requirements into technical solutions, ensuring alignment with business outcomes.

• Architect custom microservices as OMS extension points using cloud-native and event-driven patterns.

• Own non-functional requirements, including scalability, resiliency, security, latency, and cost.

• Collaborate with business, technology, and ISV teams to define scope, estimates, timelines, milestones, and phased delivery plans.

• Provide cost inputs and trade-off analysis (build vs. configure, in-house vs. ISV delivered).

• Evaluate requirements against OMS OOB capabilities before recommending customization.

• Document OOB versus custom decisions and rationale.

• Define architectural standards, coding guidelines, integration patterns, and governance processes.

• Establish architecture review checkpoints and maintain architecture documentation.

• Lead solution workshops, architecture reviews, and trade-off discussions with business and technical stakeholders.

• Represent architecture decisions in client governance forums.

Domain & Technical Expertise

• Strong B2B OMS domain knowledge, including order lifecycle, inventory/allocation, fulfillment orchestration, and returns.

• Preference for direct Burgeon OMS experience; experience with standalone OMS products and ERP-embedded OMS modules (e.g., Oracle EBS Order Management) is relevant.

• Knowledge of OMS integrations with Payment Gateways, PLM, Loyalty Platforms, Recommendation Engines, WMS, and Promotion Frameworks.

• Expertise in Java/J2EE, microservices, event-driven architecture, RESTful services, and integration patterns.

• Strong understanding of cloud architecture, preferably AWS, including Lambda, API Gateway, CloudWatch, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, Kinesis, Secrets Manager, and S3.

• Experience evaluating serverless, containerized, and server-based architectures.

Engineering, Governance & Support

• Define and enforce Agile delivery practices, architecture governance, and CI/CD standards.

• Review delivery execution and ensure alignment with architectural standards.

• Define observability strategies using New Relic, Datadog, Grafana, and Splunk.

• Guide L3 support processes and work with L1/L2 teams to resolve systemic issues.

• Proactively identify recurring issue patterns and drive automation opportunities.

• Troubleshoot and resolve cross-functional production issues requiring architectural judgment.

Required Qualifications

• 12+ years of technology experience, including architecture, technical leadership, or solutioning ownership.

• Prior OMS implementation experience is mandatory; Burgeon OMS experience preferred.

• Experience building custom microservices as extension points to commercial OMS platforms.

• Must be locally based in China.

• Business proficiency in Mandarin and English (spoken and written).

• Proven experience defining scope, estimates, timelines, and phased delivery plans in client-facing engagements.

• Ability to operate effectively at both business and technical levels.

• Flexibility to overlap with IST and PST hours for client meetings and governance activities.
