Lead AI Tech Architect - Madrid | BCG Platinion

What You’ll Do

As a Lead AI Tech Architect at BCG Platinion, you will work closely with clients and BCG case teams to tackle complex technology challenges, shape technology strategies, and translate business priorities into practical architecture solutions. You will take end-to-end ownership of larger and more complex project modules, helping clients make critical architecture decisions across applications, integration, cloud, data, infrastructure, and security.

AI will be an integral part of how you approach this work. You will combine broad architecture expertise with hands-on AI experience to shape AI-enabled solutions, evaluate emerging technologies, and guide clients through important choices around AI platforms, models, architecture patterns, governance, and deployment. Your credibility will come not only from advising on AI, but from actively working with modern AI technologies yourself.

• Lead the architecture and technical delivery of complex project modules, from problem definition and requirements through architecture decisions and implementation guidance.
• Shape enterprise and solution architectures that connect business priorities with applications, APIs, cloud platforms, data, infrastructure, security, and resilience.
• Guide clients through complex technology trade-offs, building alignment around architecture recommendations, roadmaps, and transformation priorities.
• Define and evaluate AI and GenAI architecture approaches, including model and platform choices, agentic patterns, deployment models, integration, governance, and build-versus-buy decisions.
• Prototype and validate AI-enabled architecture choices using modern AI development tools, combining hands-on technical judgment with an enterprise perspective.
• Lead and guide architects, consultants, and client technology teams, creating clarity on technical direction while supporting others’ growth and development.
• Contribute intellectual leadership to BCG Platinion by bringing new technology perspectives, sharing expertise, and helping teams turn emerging technologies into practical client solutions.

What You’ll Bring

• About 8-10 years of relevant experience in technology architecture, solution design, cloud architecture, or technology consulting.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, highly dynamic consulting environment, navigating ambiguity and adapting as client needs and priorities evolve.
• A pragmatic and curious mindset, with the ability to structure complex challenges, challenge established thinking and find practical ways forward.
• Confidence communicating with senior business and technology leaders, making complex topics accessible and building alignment around important decisions.
• A strong sense of ownership, taking responsibility for outcomes while working closely with others to deliver as one team.

You’ll collaborate closely with senior client business and technology leaders, helping teams align technology choices and turning architecture decisions into practical outcomes.

As a Lead AI Tech Architect, you’ll also play an important role within the broader team—guiding colleagues, sharing your expertise, and creating an environment where different perspectives contribute to stronger solutions. You’ll work across BCG teams to bring together the right expertise for each client challenge.
