Description and Location

We are looking for an experienced Senior IoT/IIoT & Edge Computing Architect to join a strategic industrial transformation initiative for a major energy client in Madrid. The role focuses on defining, reviewing and governing Industrial IoT, Edge Computing and Cloud architectures, acting as a key technical advisor across complex OT/IT environments while driving innovation through AI-enabled industrial solutions.

⚙️ Key Responsibilities

• Define and govern Industrial IoT & Edge architectures.
• Design scalable Cloud/Edge solutions on Azure.
• Integrate industrial devices, PLCs, SCADA and IoT platforms.
• Drive Industry 4.0 standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with OT, Infrastructure, Network, Cybersecurity and AI teams.
• Support AI use cases such as predictive maintenance and process optimization.
• Provide technical leadership and architecture governance.

✅ Required Experience & Skills

• 5+ years in IT/OT Architecture roles.
• Strong experience in Industrial IoT (IIoT) and Edge Computing.
• Expertise in PLC, SCADA, industrial devices and connectivity architectures.
• Solid understanding of Industry 4.0 frameworks.
• Experience with industrial protocols (OPC-UA, MQTT, Modbus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP).
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Azure and hybrid Cloud/Edge architectures.
• Experience with Azure Networking, Kubernetes, Data & AI Services.
• Knowledge of LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, 5G and industrial communications.
• Experience designing AI-driven industrial solutions.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps, CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• AWS experience is a plus.

🌍 Languages

• Professional Spanish.
• Professional English (minimum B2 level).
• Ability to participate in technical meetings and create architecture documentation in English.

📊 Nice to Have

• Experience in industrial transformation programs.
• Knowledge of OT cybersecurity frameworks and secure industrial architectures.
• Experience within the Energy, Utilities, Manufacturing or Industrial sectors.
• Advanced knowledge of Data & AI platforms.
• Cloud certifications in Azure or AWS.

Location: Madrid

Working Model: Hybrid (20% on-site, 80% remote)
