The opportunity:
Production Planning Specialist work focuses on developing and maintaining a detailed production schedule aligned with the production plan to optimize resource utilization and ensure adherence to production specifications and timelines.
How you'll make an impact:
- Own capacity planning and management framework. Maintain and follow-up accurate capacity utilization by period of each work center and/or control points. Provide them visible to S&OP as well as Master Scheduling process.
- Own and maintain the capacity/loading measurement of each work center/resource. Ensure the accurate planning data of operations (duration, standard labor time...) for accurate capacity/loading evaluation and operations scheduling (of each order/design/period).
- Convert Master Production Schedule into feasible finite schedules by work center together with other secondary constraints as soon as receive the MPS schedule and give feedback to Master Scheduler.
- Balance load across bottleneck and non-bottleneck resources. Manage the Assembly Buffer and Bottleneck Buffer.
- Maintain Master Data of routing, work center, and capacity setup, calendars in SAP. Follow-up Production Order Management in SAP.
- Manage detailed and minor re-scheduling for delays, breakdowns, and priority changes.
- Prepare and update short-term production plans including Resource Readiness and Material Availability Check.
- Monitor the planned input, actual input, planned output, actual output at each control point. Give the feedback of execution to Master Schedule. Periodically review the planning parameters based on input/output control data.
- Publish capacity utilization and schedule adherence by period. Planned and actual performance reports.
Your background:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or manufacturing operations, energy or heavy industry preferred.
- Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and production planning tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills; advanced Excel proficiency.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills; able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of Lean/Continuous Improvement methodologies is advantageous.
