IDR is seeking a Network Engineer. The role is based in Eau Claire, Wisconsin (Hybrid). As a Network Engineer, you will design, configure, and maintain enterprise switching and routing infrastructure, operating independently on well-defined initiatives while collaborating within a broader engineering team. The position combines hands-on technical work with teamwork and communication.
Position Overview for the Network Engineer:
- Design, configure, and maintain enterprise switching and routing infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues at OSI model Layers 1–3.
- Configure and install Cisco switches — Catalyst C9000 series.
- Configure and install Cisco routers — Catalyst C8000 series.
- Deploy equipment at both access layer and distribution layer.
Requirements for the Network Engineer:
- Minimum of 2 years of professional technical work experience with a bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline.
- Strong working knowledge of the OSI model, specifically Layers 1–3 (Physical, Data Link, Network).
- Hands-on experience configuring and installing Cisco switches — Catalyst C9000 series.
- Hands-on experience configuring and installing Cisco routers — Catalyst C8000 series.
- Experience deploying equipment at both the access layer and distribution layer.
