Cloud Architect

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Cloud Architect in Okemos, MI. Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Architect to lead the strategy, design, implementation, and ongoing optimization of enterprise cloud solutions. This role will primarily focus on Microsoft Azure, with experience across additional major cloud platforms considered a strong advantage. The Cloud Architect will play a key role in shaping the organization's cloud strategy, including cloud adoption, application architecture, infrastructure design, governance, security, and ongoing management and monitoring. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of both infrastructure and application architecture, along with hands-on experience designing and deploying scalable, enterprise-level cloud solutions. Primary Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and deploy scalable, highly available, and resilient cloud-based systems
• Apply cloud operational best practices and architectural design patterns
• Conduct system planning, modeling, performance analysis, and capacity planning
• Estimate cloud resource costs and identify opportunities for cost optimization
• Lead the migration of complex, multi-tier applications to cloud environments
• Design and manage secure data flows between cloud platforms and other environments
• Select appropriate cloud services based on application, data, compute, database, and security requirements
• Integrate cloud environments with existing on-premises infrastructure and networks
• Stay current on emerging cloud technologies, capabilities, and best practices
• Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance to software developers, systems engineers, and other IT stakeholders
• Design and implement disaster recovery and business continuity strategies
• Establish and support cloud security, compliance, and governance standards

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Cloud Architect or in a similar cloud architecture leadership role
• Strong experience designing and implementing solutions within Microsoft Azure
• Experience with additional major cloud platforms is preferred
• Experience working with cloud ecosystems, APIs, and modern frameworks
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), configuration management, and automation tools and methodologies
• Demonstrated experience supporting cloud adoption and large-scale transformation initiatives
• Strong understanding of network operations, software development, and information security
• Strong understanding of infrastructure and application architecture
• Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java, or .NET
• Ability to design and deploy enterprise-scale cloud solutions

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
