Title: Manufacturing Systems Support Engineer

Location: Groton CT USA 06340

Job Duration: 01 Years Contract + (Highest Possibilities of extension)


Position Summary

We are seeking a Manufacturing Systems Support Engineer to support digital manufacturing systems within a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. This individual will work closely with cross-functional teams to maintain, enhance, and support manufacturing execution systems, electronic batch records, data collection processes, and manufacturing reporting solutions.

The ideal candidate combines a strong engineering mindset with technical aptitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to learn new systems quickly. This position offers an excellent opportunity for early-career engineers interested in manufacturing technology, process improvement, and digital transformation.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and related digital manufacturing platforms.

• Assist with the management and support of:

o Electronic Batch Records (EBR)

o Electronic Logbooks

o Electronic Forms

o Manufacturing tracking and workflow systems

• Support manufacturing data collection and integration from production equipment.

• Work with data historians and industrial connectivity applications to capture and utilize manufacturing process data.

• Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot SQL queries and database solutions.

• Utilize Snowflake and other data platforms to analyze and report manufacturing data.

• Partner with manufacturing, engineering, operations, and quality teams to identify opportunities for process improvements.

• Provide digital system support across multiple manufacturing groups and projects.

• Assist with system enhancements, testing, validation support, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Learn and support specialized manufacturing software applications used at the site.

• Participate in troubleshooting activities and help resolve system-related issues impacting operations.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in:

o Engineering

o Information Systems

o Industrial Engineering

o Chemical Engineering

o Biomedical Engineering

o Related technical discipline

• Basic understanding of engineering principles and problem-solving methodologies.

• Fundamental knowledge of programming logic and computer science concepts.

• Familiarity with SQL or database querying concepts.

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

• Ability to learn new software systems quickly.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

• Internship or co-op experience within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, manufacturing, or regulated industries.

• Exposure to GMP-regulated environments.

• Experience with manufacturing systems, MES platforms, or process automation technologies.

• Experience with data analytics, data modeling, or reporting tools.

• Knowledge of manufacturing process flows and operational support.

• Experience with industrial data historians, process data collection systems, or equipment integration software.

• Strong coding or scripting background with interest in advanced data modeling and analytics.

• Experience with AI
