A Day in the Life of a Senior Solution Architect in Automation & Workflow Engineering

We’re looking for a Senior Solution Architect to help drive the architecture and delivery of enterprise Business Automation and Workflow solutions.

In this role, you’ll design solutions leveraging Enterprise Process Management platforms and integrate across a broad technology landscape—from front-end/channel applications to core backend systems, leveraging domain services and integration platforms.

You’ll work across both Cloud and On-prem environments, with a strong emphasis on modern architecture, integration, scalability, and resiliency.

Key areas of focus include:

• Designing scalable, secure, highly available, and high-performing enterprise solutions
• Architecting integrations across channel systems, workflow platforms, domain services, and core systems
• Designing API- and microservices-based architectures
• Applying event-driven architecture patterns using technologies such as Kafka
• Balancing functional and non-functional requirements, including security, scalability, availability, resiliency, and performance
• Applying AI-assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot and ChatGPT to architecture, technical design, and software development practices
• Exploring and applying Agentic AI patterns within Business Process Management and workflow solutions
• Taking an incremental approach to architecture and delivery, with a strong focus on delivering measurable business value

Technology & Architecture Experience

Experience across the following technologies and platforms is highly desirable:

• Business Process / Workflow: IBM Business Automation Workflow (BAW)
• Architecture & Integration: REST APIs, API-based integration, microservices, Kafka, and event-driven architecture
• Application Platforms: Java / JEE and C# / .NET
• Cloud and On-prem: Microsoft Azure and enterprise On-prem platforms
• Databases: Oracle Database and Microsoft SQL Server
• AI-Assisted Engineering: GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, and emerging Agentic AI technologies

We’re looking for someone who is equally comfortable working with engineering teams, architects, business partners, and senior leadership.

You should be able to translate complex technical concepts into clear architecture options and recommendations, collaborate closely with development teams, and confidently communicate solution designs to both technical and non-technical audiences.
