Dynamics 365 F&O Solution Architect

Our client is seeking an experienced Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations Solution Architect to lead the design and delivery of end-to-end F&O solutions spanning both Finance and Supply Chain Management.

This role requires an onsite presence in Dallas 3 days per week, working closely with business stakeholders, functional consultants, and technical teams to shape a solution architecture that is scalable, well-governed, and aligned to business strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the overall solution architecture for D365 F&O across Finance and Supply Chain modules
• Lead design workshops with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable, supportable solution designs.
• Define and govern the integration architecture between D365 F&O and other enterprise systems (e.g., CRM, WMS, EDI, banking, tax engines, Power Platform).
• Provide architectural oversight across the full project lifecycle (design, build, test, deployment, and hypercare).
• Guide functional and technical teams on best practices for configuration vs. customization, data migration strategy, and extensibility (X++, Power Platform, Azure services).
• Review and approve technical designs, ensuring adherence to Microsoft best practices and ALM standards (Azure DevOps).
• Advise on module design across core Finance areas (GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Budgeting, Cost Accounting) and Supply Chain areas (Procurement, Inventory, Warehouse Management, Production/Manufacturing, Master Planning, Transportation Management).
• Identify risks, dependencies, and technical debt, and advise leadership on mitigation strategies.
• Mentor functional consultants and developers, promoting architectural consistency across workstreams.

Key Experience Needed

• Proven experience as a Solution Architect on D365 F&O (or AX 2012 with F&O transition experience), across multiple full-lifecycle implementations.
• Strong grounding in both Finance and Supply Chain modules
• Experience architecting integrations (Data Management Framework, dual-write, Power Platform connectors, Azure Service Bus, etc.).
• Solid understanding of the D365 F&O data model, security framework, and extensibility model.
• MB-700 certification preferred, along with relevant Finance or Supply Chain functional certifications (MB-310 / MB-330).
