Senior Functional Solution Architect – SaaS Implementation

This is a hands-on functional SaaS role focused on complex implementation solution design, configuration quality, troubleshooting and reusable standards. It is not a cloud-infrastructure, software-development or pure pre-sales position. The responsibilities are split into customer-focused and internal/product-focused areas.
Customer-focused Responsibilities
- Expert problem-solving: Solve complex challenges during client implementations, ensuring solutions are effective and user-friendly.
- Technical solution alignment: Ensure customer requirements are met through tailored configurations and quality assurance.
- Consultant support & escalation handling: Provide expert guidance to consultants, stepping in for complex scenarios and project escalations.
- Communication & documentation: Engage with clients when needed, communicate technical concepts clearly, and document new approaches for team training.
- Continuous improvement & training: Identify process enhancements, including opportunities to leverage AI, and train consultants to improve their skills.
- Product insights & strategy: Share customer feedback with internal teams, explore how AI and emerging technologies can support scalable solutions, and contribute to product development by identifying trends and shaping future product directions.
- Educational background : You hold a master's degree in engineering, such as civil engineering, computer science engineering, electrical engineering, or similar.
- Extensive experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in implementing complex SaaS systems. You’ve seen the pitfalls and various challenges that can arise in large-scale SaaS implementation projects.
- Expert reasoning and decision-making: You are able to reason under ambiguity, weigh customer needs against standards and scalability, identify solution-fit risks, and make sound decisions on when to proceed, adapt, or escalate.
- Problem-solving ability: You own end-to-end solution design for complex cases, perform quality reviews, and safeguard alignment with standards, product direction, and long-term customer success.
- Technical comfort: You should be comfortable with the technical configuration of IT systems and SaaS in particular and have a good understanding of how they work. Familiarity with SQL is a plus.
- You are experienced in functional analysis: You are experienced in functional analysis and can translate business concepts into technical requirements, and document solutions clearly and consistently.
- Content-driven and hands-on: You are content-driven and have a desire to be hands-on with software systems. You thrive on diving into the details and are eager to understand the ins and outs of the software you're working with.
- Communication skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. You will need to articulate complex technical solutions in a way that both team members and clients can understand.
- Project Management skills: Proven track record in successfully managing and completing large implementation projects.
- Proven experience in product enhancement on a SaaS product.
- Knowledge of supply chain processes.
- Experience in the life-sciences and pharmaceutical industry.
- Team Leadership: Experience in leading or coaching teams is a plus, as this role serves as the next step for experienced implementation consultants. You will be guiding and teaching others while still solving challenging problems yourself.
