This is a hybrid position requiring time both in the office and working remotely.
Intermediate knowledge of the Bankruptcy laws, FDCPA and CFPB guidelines. Hands on preparation, quality control/validation, and/or filing in any 1-2 of the following key bankruptcy areas: Proof of Claims, Motions for Relief, Payment Change Notice, Post Petition Fee Notice, Cram down Rebooking, and/or Case Closing in a high volume, fast paced setting.
Scope/Responsibilities: Solid knowledge of required job skills, company policies and procedures. Proven ability to apply knowledge to a variety of work assignments ranging in difficulty. Knowledge of mortgage industry practices, procedures and processes. Possesses ability to work with department deadlines. Establishes effective professional rapport with both internal & external customers. Effectively manages time, priorities and resources to achieve goals.

  • Determine the validity of new BK filings
  • Review loan payment histories, escrow and suspense accounts to prepare POC/MFR referral to attorney
  • QC/Validate POC/MFR referrals prepared by vendor before sending to counsel
  • Monitor bar dates and response deadlines to insure timely filings with the court
  • Closely monitor vendor production and quality of work providing multiple daily directives to insure compliance with all investor requirements and court deadlines
  • Review cramdown terms for rebooking/objection
  • Review PCN/PPFN filings for approval
  • Determine correct BK payment application
  • Resolve objections, work with attorneys to structure Agreed Order terms
  • Set up payment plans on Agreed Orders, monitor for compliance and refer out for NODs, guide

  • Approve or deny attorney fee request
  • Complete docket event review, pencil ledger for payment validation and accuracy of loan history in BK Closing process
  • Guide vendor in reviewing, and responding to, attorney inquiries; handle escalated matters personally for immediate resolution
  • Utilize Pacer, Aacer, NDC and Ch. 13 Trustee websites in analyzing cases
  • Complete docket event review, pencil ledger for payment validation and accuracy of loan history
  • Responsible for validating and physically signing legal documents, including declarations, affidavits, and other related documentation.

  • Education & Professional Experience: Typically requires a minimum of 1 year of related work experience. High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Some college and/or mortgage experience a plus. One year customer service experience required.
  • Leadership/Hierarchy: Operates effectively under general supervision on routine assignments; receives instructions on new assignments.
  • Level of Decision Making: Semi-routine work assignments that sometimes vary outside of established routine. Takes ownership of problems and determines a solution.
  • Individual/Customer Impact: Decisions and actions have impact on success of team or department. Scope of work occasionally impacts assigned business area and/or its processes; ability to demonstrate positive impact on customer experience.
  • Communication: Proficient in verbal and written form as appropriate for varying audiences; ability to prepare clear written correspondence.
  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrate intermediate computer and software skills necessary for job function. Exposure to mortgage-specific software. Familiarity with Microsoft Office.

The compensation information below is provided in compliance with all applicable job posting disclosure requirements. The compensation for this position is $40,000.00-$73,000.00 . The position may also be eligible for an annual bonus, incentives, and other employment-related benefits including, but not limited to, medical, dental, and vision benefits, 401K retirement plan, and paid-time off.
