Lead Application Engineer – Serbia – Hybrid - Salary Up To €70,000 per annum
About the opportunity
We are working with an established international technology business that develops specialist software and data solutions for organisations operating critical infrastructure.
The company works across complex asset-intensive environments, helping customers improve the way they manage, maintain and monitor large-scale technical assets.
We are looking for a Lead Application Engineer with strong experience across asset management, maintenance and performance solutions. You will take ownership of the implementation and delivery of complex customer projects, acting as a technical and functional expert between customers, product teams and engineering.
This is a hands-on role with significant customer exposure and the opportunity to influence how solutions are configured, integrated and delivered.
The role
Solution Implementation
- Lead the delivery of application implementations from initial requirements through configuration, testing and deployment
- Translate customer requirements and business processes into practical system workflows and solutions
- Design maintenance processes, workflows, templates and procedures across preventative, corrective and condition-based activities
- Configure and optimise solutions around individual customer requirements and asset management strategies
- Define test scenarios and support integration, system and user acceptance testing
Asset Management & Technical Expertise
- Act as a subject matter expert across asset management, maintenance and asset performance
- Work with customers to understand their asset structures, maintenance strategies, criticality and risk
- Support the development of asset health, risk and performance models
- Identify opportunities to improve existing processes, configurations and workflows
- Analyse process, data and integration gaps and recommend appropriate solutions
Integration & Data
- Support integrations between the core platform and surrounding enterprise systems
- Work on data mapping, interfaces and system connectivity across areas such as ERP, GIS, operational systems and network models
- Help ensure asset and operational data can flow effectively between different systems
- Collaborate with technical teams to resolve integration and data-related challenges
Customer & Project Delivery
- Work directly with customers and end users throughout implementation projects
- Translate technical requirements into clear user stories, workflows and delivery tasks
- Work within both Agile and more structured project environments
- Track delivery activities, risks and dependencies using project management tools
- Communicate project progress and technical issues to both internal and external stakeholders
- Work closely with Project Management, Product, Engineering and QA teams
- Deliver customer training, knowledge transfer and documentation
- Support and mentor less experienced engineers within the team
What we're looking for
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical discipline
- Strong professional experience implementing and configuring enterprise software solutions
- Background in asset management, maintenance management or asset performance
- Experience working with complex technical assets and asset-intensive organisations
- Good understanding of asset health, criticality and risk-based maintenance
- Experience working with maintenance strategies such as preventative, corrective and condition-based maintenance
- Familiarity with recognised asset management and maintenance frameworks and industry standards
- Experience working with enterprise integrations, data mapping and interconnected systems
- Comfortable working directly with customers and translating business requirements into technical solutions
- Experience working in Agile and/or Waterfall project environments
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to operate between technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience mentoring colleagues or supporting knowledge transfer is highly desirable
Nice to have
- Experience within energy, utilities, infrastructure, manufacturing or another asset-intensive industry
- Experience working with network, operational or enterprise asset data
- Knowledge of common asset management standards and methodologies
- Exposure to SQL, Python, C# or similar technologies
- Experience working with enterprise platforms and complex system integrations
