About The Role

The Business Systems Manager is a strategic and hands-on leader within the IT team, responsible for planning, implementing, supporting, and continuously improving core business applications. This role oversees enterprise-critical systems such as ERP, WMS, EDI, and other integrated platforms, ensuring that technology solutions align with organizational objectives and deliver maximum value. Acting as a bridge between IT and business operations, this position plays a central role in system strategy, execution, and support.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the full lifecycle of business-critical applications, including selection, configuration, implementation, integration, upgrades, and user support.

Lead cross-functional projects involving system rollouts, enhancements, and integrations across ERP, WMS, EDI, and eCommerce platforms.

Manage all aspects of EDI, including mapping, integrations, onboarding new trading partners, and monitoring/troubleshooting daily transaction flows.

Apply project management practices such as scoping, coordination among teams, timeline management, and stakeholder communication.

Evaluate, plan, and execute new system implementations or upgrades, including budgeting, testing, training, and deployment.

Partner with business leaders to identify needs and recommend system-based solutions.

Manage relationships with software vendors, consultants, and integration partners.

Ensure data integrity and consistency across integrated systems, including both back-end and customer-facing platforms.

Develop and maintain API connections between cloud and on-premise systems.

Create and maintain documentation on system processes, data flows, and configurations.

Monitor system performance and utilization; identify opportunities for improvement or automation.

Stay current on emerging technologies relevant to enterprise applications, supply chain, and digital commerce.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Education

Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred (or equivalent work experience).

Experience

5+ years in IT or systems-related roles, with at least 2 years focused on business applications or enterprise systems.

Demonstrated success leading projects and collaborating across departments.

Experience working with third-party vendors and consultants.

Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of ERP, WMS, EDI, and eCommerce systems; integration experience preferred.

Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server), APIs, and data structures.

Exposure to programming or scripting (C#, .Net, or equivalent) a plus.

Experience with BI/reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar).

Certifications

PMP, ITIL, or ERP-related certifications a plus.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a process-oriented mindset.

Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.

Ability to build effective relationships across technical and non-technical teams.
