About the role
We are looking for a highly motivated and creative individual to join our ICT team for EU Institutions (EUIs) and International Organizations (IOs). If you are highly self-motivated, methodical, business minded and have a drive to increase business we want to hear from you. As a Solution Architect and Bid Manager you will focus on growing ICT business, by developing solutions, preparing offers and liaising with customers and partners.
Duties & responsibilities
The ideal candidate will become part of the ICT Presales team for EU Institutions and International Organizations, and his/her responsibilities will include:
- Assessment of opportunities for providing ICT solutions to EUIs and IOs, including analysis of tender scope, technical specifications, selection and evaluation criteria;
- Analysis and evaluation (both technical and financial) of ICT solutions and their alternatives, synthesis of solution components incorporating background information, customer policies and company’s strategy to meet technical requirements of EU tenders;
- Collaboration with ICT Sales function, collaboration and coordination of internal technical teams to analyze and design optimal ICT solutions to address requirements of EU tenders;
- Assessment/recommendation of partners and subcontractors for providing complementary ICT solutions and services to EUIs and IOs;
- End-to-end management of the bidding process for EU tenders:
- Definition of the bid structure and bid preparation timeframe,
- Monitoring of bid progress and internal teams’, partners’ and subcontractors’ responses within agreed timeframe,
- Analysis and preparation of methodologies for the delivery of ICT services,
- Preparation and write-up of (parts of) the technical proposal and case studies for ICT solutions,
- Quality control of the technical proposal, including review of technical material provided by internal technical teams, partners and subcontractors,
- Collection in a timely manner of all costs by internal teams, partners and subcontractors associated to the specified ICT solution;
- Preparation of appropriate material and support of the ICT Sales function by giving technical presentations to the customers;
- Collaboration with ICT Sales function to develop new, as well as to improve current ICT solutions and services portfolio;
- Driving of continuous improvement of ICT Bid Management function.
Required Skills
- University degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering, or relevant field;
- Minimum 2 years in Bidding or Consulting for ICT Solutions and Services for EU Institutions or International Public Sector;
- Alternatively, minimum 4 years of experience in proposal preparation and project coordination for EU-funded Research and Innovation projects (e.g., EU-H2020, EU-Horizon, EDF, etc.);
- Strong ability to analyze, define and describe ICT solutions to meet tender specifications;
- Good knowledge of solutions, as well as the related methodologies and tools, in any of the following domains: Cloud, Data Center, Virtualization, Data Analytics, AI, Infrastructure/Application monitoring;
- Good knowledge of ITSM processes; ITIL certifications will be considered a plus;
- Alternatively, good knowledge of Project Management methodologies; PM certifications will be considered a plus;
- Strong communication and presentation skills;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English;
- Ability to work and collaborate in an international/multi-cultural environment;
- Highly self-motivated and methodical, with attention to detail;
- Ability to establish relationships of trust and to negotiate with clients and partners;
- Ability to lead and work effectively in a virtual team environment;
- Ability to prioritize and manage time productively.
