Enterprise Scope: $100M+ Revenue | Multi-Site Aerospace Manufacturing | Aggressive Growth

Position

Summary

The US Chief Financial Officer (US CFO) will serve as the financial architect and strategic executive leader for the $100M+ US division of a global aerospace manufacturing group. The US CFO reports directly to the US CEO.

This executive will drive financial strategy, multi-site operational cost accounting, FP&A, capital allocation, and inorganic expansion (M&A) to aggressively scale the US business toward $250M+. The ideal candidate will blend deep manufacturing control experience with strategic corporate development skills and the executive presence needed to navigate international governance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Executive Business Partnership: Act as the strategic co-pilot to the US CEO, driving US growth strategy, commercial pricing alignment, margin expansion, and multi-site resource optimization.
  • US Executive Leadership & Team Development: Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing US finance, accounting, and IT team across multiple sites. Cultivate a culture of accountability, operational partnership, and continuous improvement.
  • Operational FP&A & Cost Accounting: Oversee absorption/standard costing, machine-hour rates, Work in Process (WIP), scrap rates, and inventory velocity across all US facilities. Maintain driver-based KPI’s, financial forecasting models and strict compliance with revenue recognition standards (ASC 606), translating US GAAP metrics into IFRS reporting formats as required by corporate HQ.
  • CapEx Execution & Operational Scaling: Evaluate, justify, and execute major US capital expenditures (high-precision CNC machining equipment, automation cells, additive manufacturing platforms, facility expansions, IT infrastructure) using rigorous ROIC and payback frameworks.
  • Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Strategy: Lead the financial strategy for inorganic expansion across the US Screen targets, oversee financial due diligence, conduct Quality of Earnings (QofE) analyses, direct valuation modeling, and manage post-merger financial and operational integration across manufacturing sites to capture planned synergies.
  • IT Ownership & Enterprise Technology Oversight: Provide executive ownership over the US Information Technology function. Lead digital transformation, ERP selection/optimization, Business Intelligence (BI) deployment, cybersecurity compliance standards, infrastructure investments, and software integration across multi-site manufacturing environments.
  • Banking, Treasury & Debt Governance: Lead primary commercial and investment banking relationships in the US. Manage cash flow, working capital velocity, local treasury operations and liquidity planning. Structure, negotiate and monitor debt facilities, revolving credit lines, equipment lease financing, and debt covenant compliance to fund aggressive organic and inorganic growth.
  • Global HQ Governance: Partner with the Global CFO and corporate finance team in Italy. Ensure timely, accurate reporting alignment between US operations and global corporate requirements, treasury management, tax structuring, and compliance initiatives.
  • Governance, Tax & Compliance: Direct all US statutory accounting, audit, tax, legal, export control (ITAR/EAR), aerospace quality (AS9100), and defense cybersecurity/regulatory compliance frameworks (CMMC, NIST 800-171, FAR/DFARS).

Qualifications

  • Executive Leadership & Matrix Navigation: 10+ years of progressive senior financial leadership (CFO, VP of Finance) with a proven track record of building and mentoring high-performing finance teams across multi-site manufacturing environments. Proven ability to operate effectively within an international matrix organization, balancing local executive priorities with overseas parent company governance.
  • Aerospace & High-Precision Manufacturing Experience: Deep finance leadership experience within discrete manufacturing; Aerospace & Defense (A&D) sectors strongly preferred.
  • Financial & Technical Expertise: Advanced expertise in absorption costing under ASC 330, inventory control, complex FP&A modeling, CapEx valuation, and dual-reporting environments (US GAAP / IFRS).
  • Treasury, Banking & Capital Markets: Hands-on experience managing bank relationships, negotiating debt facilities, equipment financing, managing covenant compliance and directing cash flow forecasting.
  • Proven Growth & M&A Track Record: Direct experience guiding a mid-market manufacturing enterprise through rapid scaling from ~$100M toward $250M+, including hands-on experience executing M&A transactions and post-merger integrations.
  • IT & Enterprise Systems Sponsorship: Demonstrated track record providing executive leadership over corporate IT, including ERP implementations/upgrades, data analytics/BI platforms, and cybersecurity governance within a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Education & Credentials: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business discipline required; MBA and/or CPA strongly preferred.
