Work is driven by your direct leadership, assigned projects, work backlogs and business requests. You will be accountable for the oversight and administration of the Windows server OS layer & underlying technologies, research of modern technologies, modernization projects, outlining technology standards, and maintaining operational excellence. This position partners across OptumServe IT in the execution and maintenance of technologies key to OptumServe's success.
Managed technologies include but are not limited to VMWare ESXi, VMWare VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure), Microsoft SCCM, Microsoft Orchestrator, AppViewX, CommVault backup, vRanger Backup & Replication & IBM Spectrum Protect. Team members in this role also have the opportunity to work with and be mentored in Isilon NAS (Network-attached Storage) storage, EMC Unity SAN (Storage Area Network), EMC PowerMax SAN, EMC PowerStore SAN, NetApp SAN / NAS, Pure Storage SAN, MinIO S3 storage, Cisco UCS (Cisco Unified Computing System) (Cisco Unified Computing System) chassis, Cisco UCS Servers, Dell Servers, HP Servers, Veronis Data Protection, Thales PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) technologies, Azure Government cloud and Azure commercial cloud.
To support this mission, OSIT has initiated a multi-year modernization program aimed at updating and enhancing enterprise technology systems in accordance with modern design standards.

Primary Responsibilities
- Manage, guide, mentor, and support team members.
- Leadership point of contact of patch and vulnerability management for servers and underlying infrastructure.
- Leadership point of contact for all audit activities. Partner with internal and external resources to ensure timely remediation efforts.
- Manage IT projects that involve technology and product evaluation, implementation, deployment, and troubleshooting.
- Manage and mentor staff to ensure that quality and productivity standards are met; ensure training, performance, and individual development of staff.
- Develop staff KPI's and goals consistent with business and departmental requirements and goals.
- Communicate productivity and quality concerns to manager and provide input for recommended changes.
- Administration of department policy and procedures to include performance reviews, handling employee issues, monitoring PTO (Paid Time Off), timesheet approval, interviewing, oversight of new hire training, professional growth and performance, and routine departmental tasks.
- Research, evaluate and suggest new products and process improvements within IT.
- Implement and enforce security procedures to ensure data is secure and accessed by only those that need access to it.
- Provide guidance to staff when troubleshooting issues and dealing with systems and IT services; oversee complex issues and escalate to leadership as appropriate.
- Assist in maintaining centralized documentation of IT Hosting & Storage information.
- Create and update IT SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for various IT Business Services.
- Keep documentation on all software and hardware licensing.
- Participate in hands-on troubleshooting of the environment and daily operations.
- Manage team on-call rotations and act as an on-call escalation point of contact.

Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in IT systems administration working primarily with Microsoft technologies
- 5+ years of experience administering with Microsoft Windows, Windows server environment, Active Directory, and group policy management
- 3+ years of experience managing and directing the activities of others
- Ability to work off-hours as job tasks required
- ITIL or other ITSM framework certification
- National Career Readiness Certificate
- Certifications on related Microsoft, Cisco, EMC, and other Technologies
- Working experience with VMWare environments and infrastructure
- Working experience with Cisco UCS environments and infrastructure
- Working experience with automation tools such as SCCM and Orchestrator
- Working experience and knowledge of Infrastructure as Code
- Working experience with Microsoft, VMWare, Cisco, and EMC enterprise products
- DOD/VA/Military Experience
- DOD/VA/Military Clearances
