Release Train Engineer / Senior Scrum Master

Role Description The Release Train Engineer / Senior Scrum Master is a full-time remote role responsible for facilitating Agile Release Trains and leading cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions. Day-to-day activities include guiding SAFe ceremonies, coaching teams on Agile and Scrum practices, and removing impediments to ensure continuous flow of value. The role coordinates release planning, manages dependencies across teams and programs, and maintains alignment with business objectives and strategic roadmaps. This position collaborates closely with product management, architecture, and engineering to optimize delivery, improve release performance, and promote continuous improvement across the organization. The Release Train Engineer / Senior Scrum Master also supports metrics and reporting to provide transparency to stakeholders and leadership.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Release Engineering and Release Management skills to coordinate complex, multi-team releases and ensure quality and stability.
• Candidates should possess Program Management experience to manage dependencies, risks, and schedules across multiple teams and initiatives.
• Candidates should possess Software Development understanding to collaborate effectively with engineering teams and support technical decision-making.
• Candidates should possess Continuous Integration expertise to support modern DevOps practices and improve build, test, and deployment pipelines.
• Experience as a Release Train Engineer, Senior Scrum Master, or similar Agile leadership role within SAFe or scaled Agile environments.
• Strong facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote, distributed setting.
• Proven track record driving continuous improvement, fostering collaboration, and promoting Agile and DevOps best practices.
• Relevant certifications such as SAFe RTE, SAFe SPC, SAFe Scrum Master, or PMI-ACP are highly beneficial; bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
