IT - Bench/Field Service Technician (Entry/Mid-Level)

This role is ideal for someone early in their IT career who enjoys hands-on work with computers, networking equipment, and supporting end users. You will work closely with senior engineers and network administrators while gaining real-world experience in business IT environments.
Training and mentoring are provided, along with opportunities for professional certification and career growth.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist with onsite delivery, installation, and configuration of workstations, servers, and networking equipment
- Perform hardware setup, upgrades, and repairs in both bench and field environments
- Assist with troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues for business clients
- Provide basic end-user support and help resolve workstation and device issues
- Perform proactive maintenance on systems, operating systems, and hardware
- Assist senior engineers with support tickets, deployments, and infrastructure projects
- Document solutions and procedures within the knowledge base and documentation systems
- Maintain and update client network documentation
- Assist with special projects and technology rollouts
- Maintain high standards of professionalism and customer service
- Perform additional duties as required
- Experience building, configuring, and repairing computers
- Strong customer service mindset and professional communication skills
- Ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage changing priorities
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently when required
- Flexible schedule with occasional evening or weekend work when needed
- Ability to complete assigned training related to MSP tools and systems
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to occasionally lift equipment up to 50 lbs (computers, monitors, servers, etc.)
- Ability to work both onsite and remotely when appropriate
- Experience with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with Apple macOS, iOS, and Android devices
- Experience with peripherals including printers, scanners, and mobile devices
- Basic networking knowledge including LAN/WAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, and security concepts
- Basic remote access technologies such as VPN and Remote Desktop / Terminal Services
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Ability to follow documented processes and procedures
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to adapt to new technologies and changing environments
- High School Diploma required
- CompTIA A+ certification preferred. Candidates without certification must obtain A+ within 180 days of hire
- CompTIA Network+ certification preferred. Candidates without certification must obtain Network+ within 1 year of hire
- Training and certification support provided
