Electro-mechanical repair and overhaul of mail processing, delivery and bulk processing equipment, including repairing printed circuit boards, electrical, electronic, mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies to a component level. These services ensure the continued essential automation, mechanization of retail and bulk processing equipment used in mail processing and retail installations across the entire country.
About The Role
Peraton is seeking a Project Control Specialist to join our team of diverse, qualified individuals. The Program Management Analyst works at the United States Postal Service (USPS) Central Repair Facility (CRF) in Topeka, KS. The CRF is a depot repair facility for USPS mail processing, delivery, and bulk mail systems repairable parts. Examples: repairing printed circuit boards, electrical, electronic, mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies to component level. The CRF provides depot level maintenance for essential automation, mechanization, retail and bulk mail processing systems used in all mail processing and retail installations.
Our Project Control Specialist oversees and coordinates the operational aspects of ongoing projects and performs project management and planning in coordination with project team and line management. Specific tasks include:
- Review status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports
- Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction goals and objectives
- Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress, for intervention, and problem solving with project managers, line manager, and customer goals
- Tracks and reports the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between management and project planning efforts
- Reviews status of projects, manages schedules, and prepares status reports
- Assesses project issues and provides information to responsible parties to meet productivity, quality, and client satisfaction goals and objectives
- Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress including milestones within a projected time line
- Notifies appropriate personnel when time line issues occur. Extensive experience with Microsoft Project software is required
- Extensive contacts with internal personnel and outside customer representatives at various management levels concerning operations or scheduling or specific phases of projects or contracts
- Conducts briefings and participates in technical meetings for internal or external representatives concerning specifics operations
- Performs other related tasks as assigned
- Bachelor's degree with 5+ years experience, master's degree with 3 years experience or high school diploma with 9+ years experience.
- U.S Citizenship; must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- Must have experience in project management and planning
- Must have the ability to balance and prioritize numerous deadlines
- Must demonstrate appropriate People Leadership Characteristics
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project
- Experience with government contracts
- Prior experience in a Union environment
- Lean Six Sigma and ISO 9001 experience or training
- Sedentary work exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
- Physical activity may include forklift, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, and repetitive motion
- Have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment and to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures
