Required Skills:
- Extensive experience with Linux systems, specifically RHEL and SUSE, in mission-critical enterprise settings
- Strong troubleshooting skills encompassing OS, kernel, storage, networking, authentication, and application dependencies
- Proficiency with automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Bash, Python, and Git
- Solid understanding of virtualization platforms like vSphere, along with compute, server hardware, and lifecycle management
- Hands-on experience with observability and monitoring tools including Datadog, Dynatrace, Nagios, or similar platforms
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NTP, LDAP/Active Directory, VPN, firewall, and load-balancing concepts
- Familiarity with enterprise storage and backup solutions such as SAN, NAS, Veeam, NetBackup, or comparable technologies
- Ability to lead complex technical projects, from planning through implementation and support
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience supporting security hardening, vulnerability remediation, and compliance standards like SOX and PCI-DSS
- Cloud computing experience, especially with hybrid or multi-cloud environments
- Support for containerization, cloud-native architectures, and modernization initiatives
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or an equivalent technical field
- 10+ years of hands-on Linux engineering, systems, or platform engineering experience in enterprise production environments
Other Requirements:
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor junior engineers and collaborate effectively with offshore and managed service teams
- Strong communication skills to coordinate across multiple teams and stakeholders
- Willingness to participate in a rotation for on-call support and maintenance
