Overview / Summary
We are seeking a Manufacturing IT Support Engineer to provide technical support within a manufacturing plant environment. This role will support IT applications, infrastructure, operating systems, end-user productivity tools, plant floor systems, local network equipment, and servers. The position requires flexibility to support a multi-shift, 24x7 manufacturing operation, including weekend production when necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for IT applications, infrastructure, operating systems, and end-user productivity tools throughout the manufacturing environment.
- Work on site with flexible hours to support a multi-shift operation and weekend production when necessary.
- Support plant floor systems and corporate teams by resolving incidents, performing triage, executing business continuity plans, supporting escalations, and providing hands-on technical support.
- Focus on the integration and long-term maintenance of applications and hardware.
- Interface with IT and business owners to prioritize improvement efforts.
- Assist the Site IT Manager with managing assignments and workload.
- Develop, maintain, and share accurate support documentation.
- Support local network equipment in a Cisco-based environment.
- Support local servers across physical and virtual environments in Windows and Linux-based ecosystems.
- Support technology deployments and expansion efforts utilizing IIoT, iOS, software-defined networking, mobile, and Android-based equipment.
- Support a high-pressure production environment and a 24x7 operation.
- Work in a semi-tempered plant floor environment that may involve hot, cold, and dirty conditions.
- 2-year or higher college degree.
- Eagerness to learn, adapt to, and embrace new technologies.
- Strong desire to learn manufacturing and business practices from an IT perspective.
- Broad business and manufacturing mindset.
- Understanding of computer-based tools and computing infrastructure.
- Interest in processes that support manufacturing operations.
- Willingness to work in a high-pressure production environment.
- Commitment to supporting a 24x7 operation.
- Willingness to work on site with flexible hours in support of a multi-shift operation.
- Willingness to work in a semi-tempered plant floor environment.
- High school education.
