The Role

We are seeking a CNC Setter Operator to join our production machine shop, operating our Mazak CNC machining centres to produce precision components. The role involves collaboration across multiple departments, including Quality Control, supported by our real-time SPC and data capture systems, to uphold the right-first-time approach that underpins everything we do.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating Mazak CNC machining centres

• Setting current and new jobs where required

• Reading and interpreting engineering and technical drawings

• Selecting appropriate tooling and setting machine offsets

• Tool management and maintenance, including wear monitoring

• Producing components to tight tolerances and specifications

• Carrying out in-process checks, inspecting finished components and carrying out first-off inspection at the machine

• Maintaining close collaboration with Quality Control

• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment

• Working in line with company health and safety procedures


The Successful Candidate Will Have

• Time served CNC machinist, or solid education in a relevant subject area

• The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

• Ability to use hand gauges, including micrometres

• Experience of machining to tight tolerances

• A careful, quality-first approach to work

• Willingness to work a rotating shift pattern, covering both days and nights


Working Hours

Rotating 2 weeks about day and nightshift pattern:

• 6:00am starts, Monday to Friday, with an early finish on a Friday

• 6:00pm starts, Monday to Thursday
