Job Description:Job Description:As a Broadcom Field Application Engineer (FAE), you will be the technical authority leading our optical component business for key optical module customers in Chengdu. You will partner closely with the Business Unit and Sales teams to promote and validate our comprehensive optical solutions, including PAM4 DSP, high-speed lasers (VCSEL/EML/DFB) and PD .
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the full lifecycle of technical support for assigned optical module customers in Chengdu.
- Execute and align local customer strategies with the company's business and product roadmap.
- Drive Design-Win projects through cross-functional collaboration with Sales and BU teams.
- Manage day-to-day technical communications with R&D and engineering teams of customers.
- Enable customer designs by providing deep expertise in our optical components.
- Lead on-site technical support for debug, performance optimization, and product qualification.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering (EE), Optical Communication, Optoelectronics or related engineering majors.
- 10 or more years of progressive working experience in the optical communication industry, with a proven track record in supporting semiconductor optical component business.
- Profound expertise and in-depth understanding of IEEE, CMIS, OIF and other optical communication industry standards. Solid professional knowledge of optical communication systems; familiarity with data center architecture and AI network architecture is a distinct advantage.
- Proficient in operating various professional optical test instruments such as DCA, scope, BERT, Ethernet tester. Be capable of using test equipment for product performance testing, parameter calibration and fault analysis.
- Solid knowledge of optical module software design, hardware design and PCB layout design, especially related to DSP. Familiar with the whole process of optical module development phase.
- In-depth knowledge of DSP internal architecture, proficient in DSP debugging and optimization methods, with rich practical experience in DSP-related performance tuning and problem solving.
- Willingness to take frequent business travel to provide on-site support to customers.
