Role Overview

As our Connect:Direct Subject Matter Expert, you will lead the installation, migration, customization and performance tuning of IBM Sterling Connect:Direct environments, and serve as the senior (L3) escalation point for the support team. This is a hands-on technical leadership role for an expert who thrives in mission-critical, security-sensitive environments.

Key Responsibilities

•Install, configure and deploy IBM Sterling Connect:Direct across multiple platforms (z/OS, UNIX/Linux, Windows, IBM i), including certified-container deployments.

•Plan and execute version upgrades and cross-platform migrations, including integration with Sterling B2B Integrator / File Gateway where required.

•Develop and customize Connect:Direct Processes (Process Language scripting) and automate end-to-end file-transfer workflows.

•Configure and harden security using Connect:Direct Secure+ (SSL/TLS, X.509 certificates) and Secure Proxy, meeting FIPS 140-2 requirements.

•Tune performance for high-volume and large-file transfers — checkpoint restart, compression, automatic retry, and TCP/IP / SNA optimization.

•Produce design documents, run-books, configuration baselines and knowledge-transfer material.

•Act as the L3 escalation point; support UAT, cut-over and go-live in line with the client's security and change-management standards.

Required Qualifications

•8+ years in Managed File Transfer, with 5+ years hands-on IBM Sterling Connect:Direct (install, migrate, customize, tune) — mandatory.

•Strong scripting skills: Connect:Direct Process Language, shell scripting and/or JCL, with automation experience.

•Solid knowledge of MFT security: SSL/TLS, X.509 certificates, FIPS 140-2, Secure+ and Secure Proxy.

•Experience with Control Center / Control Center Director for monitoring and lifecycle management.

•Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications

•IBM Sterling certification.

•Experience in banking or financial-services production environments.

•Working proficiency in Cantonese and/or Mandarin for Hong Kong client engagement.
