What To Expect
In the Flight Software Department, we conduct research and develop reliable and resilient (real-time) software for aircraft and spacecraft. With our expertise in this field, we currently support approximately 20 space missions with software engineering and software quality assurance.
Your tasks
- research, design and development of innovative AI methods for software quality and product assurance in the space sector
- evaluation of the selected and developed AI methods in terms of their efficiency and effectiveness compared to conventional processes or methods
- implementation of the selected AI methods in ongoing space missions
- advanced academic study with a view to obtaining a PhD in the field of AI methods in software quality assurance
- responsibility for software quality assurance in national and international space missions (in accordance with required standards such as ECSS)
- preparation of planning documents for software quality assurance (e.g. Software PA Plan, Software Configuration Management Plan, Software PA Milestone Report, etc.)
- publication of research findings in journals and at conferences
Your profile
- Completed academic university studies (Master / University Diploma) in computer science or engineering (e.g. computer engineering, aerospace engineering) or other courses of study relevant to the job.
- You have experience in software engineering and quality assurance of software for safety-critical systems.
- You have experience in software development using C/C++, Python or Rust.
- You speak and write English fluently.
- You have experience with the entire development cycle of mission-critical embedded software applications on board (i.e. requirements, design, implementation, testing, qualification).
- You have practical experience in the application of space quality assurance standards (e.g. ECSS-E40/Q80 or DO-178).
