About The Role
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Firmware / DevOps Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in embedded firmware development, Linux-based systems, CI/CD automation, and DevOps practices.
You will be responsible for developing and maintaining reliable firmware, building automated development and deployment pipelines, improving engineering workflows, and collaborating closely with hardware, software, QA, and cloud teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, debug, and maintain embedded firmware for products and connected devices.
- Develop firmware using C/C++ and work with embedded Linux/RTOS environments.
- Work with microcontrollers, SoCs, device drivers, communication protocols, and hardware interfaces.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for firmware and software builds, testing, and releases.
- Automate build, test, deployment, and release processes.
- Manage source control, branching strategies, build systems, and artifact repositories.
- Configure and maintain development, build, and test environments.
- Implement automated firmware testing and quality checks.
- Troubleshoot issues across firmware, build infrastructure, and deployment pipelines.
- Work with Git, Docker, Jenkins/GitLab CI/GitHub Actions, or similar DevOps tools.
- Manage Linux systems and scripting using Python/Bash.
- Collaborate with hardware, firmware, software, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver high-quality products.
- Establish best practices for firmware releases, versioning, configuration management, and deployment.
- Monitor and improve build and deployment reliability, performance, and security.
- Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, technical documentation, and mentoring of junior engineers.
- 5+ years of experience in Firmware/Embedded Systems and DevOps.
- Strong programming skills in C/C++.
- Experience with Embedded Linux and/or RTOS.
- Strong knowledge of Git and software development workflows.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD and automation.
- Experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or equivalent tools.
- Good knowledge of Linux, Python, and Bash scripting.
- Experience with Docker/containerized development environments.
- Understanding of embedded communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, USB, TCP/IP, etc.
- Experience with debugging tools, logs, crash analysis, and system-level troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of software development and release processes.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with Yocto/Buildroot and embedded Linux build systems.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes or other container orchestration technologies.
- Experience with automated hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing.
- Knowledge of OTA firmware update mechanisms.
- Experience with ARM-based platforms and cross-compilation.
- Familiarity with security, secure boot, firmware signing, and vulnerability management.
