Would you like the opportunity to join GXO as a Senior Data Scientist? Are you experienced in leading the design & development of advanced data science? Are you wanting to lead for a global business on product & technical decisions?


Here at GXO, we’re proud to be recruiting for a SeniorData Scientist. The Senior Data Scientist is responsible for leading the design, development, validation, and production of advanced data science and machine learning solutions that improve decision-making across GXO’s global network.


This is a full-time permanent position, offering remote working with occasional travel. You’ll be working Monday to Friday, 09:00 till 17:00. However, some flexibility is required, as you will be working with various time-zones, including the US.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £75,000 per annum, and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:


  • Lead the design, development, and validation of advanced statistical, machine learning, and optimization models to solve complex business and operational problems across GXO products and workflows.
  • Partner with product managers, engineers, deployment leads, and business stakeholders to frame use cases, define success metrics, identify required data sources, and prioritize data science solutions
  • Communicate analytical insights, model trade-offs, uncertainty, and recommended actions clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders, helping teams make better operational and strategic decisions.
  • Raise data science standards across the team through methodological review, documentation, mentoring, and continuous improvement


What you need to succeed at GXO:


  • Previous experience in a data science, machine learning & advanced analytics
  • Experience taking analytical or machine learning solutions from exploration through deployment and ongoing performance management.
  • Strong Python and SQL skills, including experience building maintainable data science workflows, feature engineering pipelines, experimentation frameworks, and model evaluation code for production settings.
  • Working knowledge of GCP-based data and ML environments, preferably including BigQuery, Vertex AI, and cloud workflows that support deployment, monitoring, and retraining
