Indexed description
At City College Plymouth, one of the country’s largest providers of quality education and training, we are going through a period of transition to enable us to propel education into the future. We pride ourselves on delivering a learning environment and organisational culture that impact positively on the health, wellbeing and sustainability of our community and enables all our students and staff to achieve their full potential.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced relationship-builder to lead employer engagement across our Defence Technical Excellence College (DTEC). Working with defence, security, engineering and supply-chain employers, you will gather and translate workforce intelligence into practical curriculum and programme priorities, secure meaningful employer involvement in curriculum design and delivery, and develop opportunities for placements, learner progression and employer investment. This is a highly collaborative role connecting industry demand directly with the skills provision needed across the DTEC network.
What Will You Bring To The Role
- Adapting - Able to adapt their engagement approach across defence primes, SMEs, sector bodies and education partners, manage competing relationship and programme priorities, and analyse new workforce intelligence to inform DTEC activity.
- Collaborating - Able to build trusted relationships by recognising stakeholder needs and perspectives, communicating appropriately with different audiences, and collaborating effectively to secure meaningful employer participation and investment.
- Problem-solving - Able to identify themes and patterns in employer and labour-market intelligence, critically assess evidence, and translate emerging workforce needs into practical curriculum, capacity, placement and partnership priorities.
- Persistence - Able to sustain employer relationships and follow activity through to delivery, remaining composed when engagement is challenging and using persistence and alternative approaches to secure contributions, placements and agreed outcomes.
- Holiday: Up to 35 days plus bank holidays and College Closure over Christmas.
- Career development opportunities.
- Generous contributions towards your pension.
- Free tea, coffee and lunch in our dedicated staff lounge.
After completing our online application form, you will be asked to complete an online assessment within a few days of this Vacancy closing. This assessment asks you no questions at all. Instead, it observes your behaviour and natural strengths in action, with a series of engaging, intuitive tasks. You will receive a report outlining your behaviours once you have completed the assessment, regardless of whether you progress to the next stage or not, providing you with some feedback.
The College welcomes applications from service leavers and the Armed Forces community, and supports those service leavers who are Reservists in any of the Armed Forces.
The College reserves the right to close this advertisement early if sufficient applications have been received.
