About the role
Join NEC Australia and play a key role in advancing enterprise automation capability, working as part of a high-performing team focused on improving operational efficiency, service quality and future AI-enabled automation outcomes.
You'll contribute to the design, architecture and delivery of automation solutions using Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform (AAP), Python and PowerShell, helping drive automation adoption across the enterprise.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced automation engineer to work within a team driving NEC's automation transformation, partnering with the Automation Lead and stakeholders across infrastructure, cloud, network, security and ITSM domains.
Key responsibilities
- Contribute to the delivery of NEC's enterprise automation strategy and roadmap as part of the broader automation team.
- Support the ongoing development, administration and optimisation of the Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform.
- Design and deliver automation across infrastructure, cloud, networks, security and ITSM.
- Develop scalable automation solutions using Ansible, Python, PowerShell and APIs.
- Drive automation governance, standards and best practices.
- Partner with technical and business leaders to identify and deliver automation opportunities.
About you
- 8+ years in automation, DevOps, platform engineering or managed services.
- 5+ years' experience with Ansible, AWX or Red Hat AAP.
- Strong automation development skills in Python, PowerShell and REST APIs.
- Experience delivering enterprise-scale automation and technology transformation initiatives.
- Excellent stakeholder and leadership skills.
- Desirable: Red Hat certifications such as Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA) in Ansible Automation, Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) with a focus on Linux Automation using Ansible, or equivalent automation-focused certifications.
