Embedded Software Engineer

Embedded Firmware Engineer | $50K-$80K AUD | Perth, Australia

Working with a global IoT and asset tracking business, building robust, scalable hardware products used across multiple industries. This is a great opportunity for an early-career engineer to get hands-on across the full product lifecycle, working closely with hardware and production teams.

Ideal background:

• 0–2 years experience in embedded firmware development (or strong academic projects)
• Strong experience with C / C++ in embedded environments
• Exposure to microcontrollers (ARM, STM32 or similar)
• Understanding of communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN)
• Experience debugging on hardware (JTAG, oscilloscopes, logic analysers)
• Basic understanding of electronics and schematic reading
• Exposure to RTOS or real-time systems (nice to have)
• Familiarity with Git or version control
• Some experience with Python or C# is a bonus
• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems or similar

What you’ll be doing:

• Designing and developing embedded firmware for IoT hardware products
• Supporting the full product lifecycle from concept through to production
• Working closely with hardware, testing, and production teams
• Debugging and optimising firmware performance and reliability
• Supporting manufacturing and field teams with technical issues
• Contributing to firmware architecture and system design decisions
• Writing clean, scalable, and maintainable code
