Position Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Sapio LIMS Administrator / Laboratory Informatics Specialist to serve as the primary system owner and subject matter expert for the Sapio LIMS platform. This role will be responsible for designing, configuring, implementing, and optimizing laboratory workflows while partnering closely with laboratory, quality, and technical teams.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Sapio LIMS, a solid understanding of Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) workflows, and prior hands-on bench/in-lab laboratory experience within a biotechnology, pharmaceutical, diagnostics, or life sciences environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary administrator, system owner, and subject matter expert for Sapio LIMS.
• Lead the design, configuration, implementation, and optimization of laboratory workflows within the LIMS environment.
• Evaluate existing laboratory processes and develop scalable, efficient, and sustainable workflow solutions.
• Collaborate with laboratory, quality, IT, and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into LIMS functionality and system solutions.
• Configure and maintain workflows, user roles and permissions, sample tracking, data management, and system functionality.
• Support laboratory operations involving Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) and ensure LIMS workflows are aligned with sequencing and sample-processing requirements.
• Troubleshoot LIMS-related issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
• Manage system enhancements, workflow improvements, and continuous optimization initiatives.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, system documentation, work instructions, and training materials.
• Provide user training and ongoing support to laboratory personnel and other system stakeholders.
• Act as the go-to resource for Sapio LIMS administration, workflow management, and laboratory informatics.
• Work independently to drive projects from requirements gathering through implementation with minimal supervision.

Required Qualifications

• 6–10 years of relevant experience in laboratory informatics, LIMS administration, laboratory operations, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience administering, configuring, and supporting Sapio LIMS.
• Strong knowledge of Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) workflows and laboratory processes.
• Previous hands-on bench/in-lab laboratory experience is required.
• Demonstrated experience designing, building, implementing, and optimizing LIMS workflows.
• Experience with laboratory sample tracking, data management, user administration, and workflow configuration.
• Ability to independently manage projects, troubleshoot complex issues, and take ownership with minimal direction.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, diagnostics, clinical laboratory, or other regulated life sciences environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a continuous-improvement mindset.
