The Role
As a Linux Systems Administrator at Kyndryl, you’ll be responsible for supporting and maintaining Linux-based operating systems in enterprise production environments. In this role, you ensure system availability, stability, performance, and security while meeting defined service levels.
You are a hands-on technical professional who manages server operations, resolves incidents, and troubleshoots complex system issues. Working closely with cross‑functional teams, you contribute to reliable service delivery, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across infrastructure environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support Linux operating systems (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu, SUSE) in production environments.
- Perform server installation, configuration, hardening, patching, and ongoing maintenance.
- Monitor system health, analyze logs, and troubleshoot performance, availability, and service issues.
- Respond to incidents and service requests within defined SLAs, ensuring timely resolution.
- Document operational procedures and collaborate with other technology towers such as database, middleware, cloud, and storage teams.

Required Skills And Experience
- 4+ years of experience administering Linux operating systems in enterprise or production environments.
- Hands‑on experience with Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu, or SUSE Linux distributions.
- Experience managing server lifecycle activities, including installation, configuration, hardening, and patching.
- Proven experience resolving incidents and troubleshooting system and performance issues under SLAs.
- Intermediate English proficiency for technical documentation and collaboration with global teams.
- Knowledge of user, permission, and security management (sudo, ACLs, SELinux).
- Experience administering common Linux services such as systemd, cron, SSH, NFS, Samba, Apache, and similar.
- Basic scripting experience for automation (Bash).
- Experience with proactive monitoring, capacity management, and operational documentation.
- RHCSA (Red Hat Certified System Administrator) or higher certification.
