Your new role
As a Senior Platform Engineer, your primary purpose will be to develop, support, and maintain cloud infrastructure and platform systems – specifically relating to Amazon Web Services, RedHat Open Shift – as well as products such as MuleSoft, Jenkins and Salesforce. This includes contributing to design, proactive administration, availability and recovery planning, performance monitoring and tuning, capacity planning and security reviews, all using industry best practices.
Role and responsibilities:
- Maintain a secure, stable, scalable, and highly available cloud environment.
- Serve as the key technical contact for SRO’s cloud service providers
- Provide support and development services for SRO cloud environment and platforms, including day-to-day operations, maintenance, project build/support, troubleshooting, capacity management, systems integration, disaster recovery and business continuity processes.
- Provide third level support and development services for the SRO cloud environment.
- In conjunction with Network Specialists and Cyber Security team provide security and intrusion prevention/protection to SRO Cloud Services.
- Support technical innovation and efficiency through the implementation of agreed cloud technologies.
- Ensure cloud services are integrated with BTS operational monitoring systems and maintain reports on cloud performance, costs, capacity usage and capacity forecasts.
- Assist in the preparation of incident analysis and post implementation review reports to provide advice to senior management.
What you need to succeed
- High level technical expertise in the support and monitoring of cloud infrastructure and platforms and demonstrated experience working with cloud computing and DevSecOps related products including Salesforce, AWS, Kubernetes/Containerisation, RedHat OpenShift, MuleSoft and Jenkins.
- Demonstrated experience in general system administration, Unix/Linux administration and associated application support, monitoring/management products.
- Demonstrated experience in and knowledge of cloud security practices.
- Demonstrated high-level conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- High-level communication (written, verbal and interpersonal) and negotiation skills to prepare written reports, consult, communicate with, and influence others.
- Highly desirable: Cloud computing orientated certifications such as Salesforce Administrator, AWS Solutions Architect Professional, ISC(2) CCSP, RHCS in OpenShift Administration.
What you'll get in return
