ResetData is shaping a future where AI is not only powerful - but sovereign, ethical, and purpose-built for Australia. In a world dominated by offshore models and opaque systems, ResetData offers a secure, onshore alternative that gives organisations true control over their data, deployment, and digital destiny.

Through partnerships with Centuria, NVIDIA and Dell, and infrastructure designed for scale and precision, ResetData is helping shape a sovereign AI ecosystem that reflects Australian laws, values, and strategic priorities. More than a platform, ResetData is a partner in shaping Australia's next era of intelligence – one that is self-determined, secure, and aligned to the future we choose to build.

This is your chance to join as part of ResetData's foundational team as we shape the future of next generation AI cloud services for Australia.

Position: Systems Engineer/Data Centre Technician

Location: Melbourne Australia

The role:

As a Data Centre Technician / Systems Engineer at ResetData, you'll be hands-on at the hardware layer of Australia's most ambitious AI infrastructure build. This is a physical, close-to-the-metal role:: racking, cabling, deploying and maintaining the servers and GPU compute nodes that power our data centre facilities.

You'll work with cutting-edge NVIDIA GPU architectures (including RTX6000, H200 B300, and GB300 nodes), DLC liquid cooling systems, and large-scale storage and compute fabrics – the kind of infrastructure that underpins national AI workloads.

This role suits someone who has worked in a hyperscaler, major data centre operator, or enterprise compute environment, and who's energised by hands-on hardware work: racking, fibre, diagnostics, and keeping mission-critical infrastructure running.

What you'll do:

  • Deploy, rack, cable and maintain GPU servers, compute nodes, and storage systems across ResetData's Melbourne data centre facility AI-F1 in Docklands.
  • Support the build-out of new environments, including physical installation, fibre and high-density cabling, and commissioning of large-scale NVIDIA GPU clusters.
  • Perform hardware troubleshooting, firmware upgrades, and lifecycle management across bare-metal and GPU infrastructure.
  • Deploy and support network/fabric hardware (switches, fibre optic diagnostics) as part of compute and ML fabric expansion projects.
  • Collaborate with Network and AI Ops Engineers to integrate compute nodes into our production GPU cloud environment.
  • Provide Level 2 infrastructure support and contribute to the transition to 24/7 operations, including documentation, runbooks, and on-call processes.
  • Monitor system health and performance across physical and virtualised infrastructure layers.
  • Work directly with vendor support teams (NVIDIA, Dell) during hardware incidents and RMA processes.
  • Maintain accurate asset records, network diagrams, and change management documentation.
  • Gain exposure to infrastructure-as-code practices for provisioning and configuration management as the team scales.

What you'll bring:

  • Hands-on experience with enterprise server hardware in a data centre environment – comfortable racking, cabling, and troubleshooting in high-density compute environments. A background from a hyperscaler large-scale data centre builder, operator or major enterprise strongly preferred.
  • Exposure to network/fabric deployment – switch installation, fibre optic diagnostics, cabling matrices – is highly regarded.
  • Working Linux systems administration skills and server configuration experience.
  • Familiarity with server management tools, IPMI/iDRAC/iLO, and out-of-band management.
  • Understanding of storage systems (NVMe, SAN, NAS) and compute networking at the hardware layer.
  • Experience with firmware management, hardware diagnostics, and vendor support (RMA) engagement.
  • Solid understanding of data centre physical infrastructure – power, cooling, and cabling practices.
  • Experience with GPU hardware or high-performance compute infrastructure is a significant advantage (NVIDIA GPU familiarity is a plus).
  • Strong documentation habits and a methodical, first-principles approach to troubleshooting.

What else you need to know:

  • Flexible work environment: You’ll split your time between our Melbourne data centre in Docklands and our CBD offices with flexibility
  • Growth and development: You will work on some of the most advanced AI infrastructure in Australia – real GPU clusters, real AI factories, real customers.
  • Team first: We take pride in our collaborative and inclusive team culture.
