Infrastructure Engineer

Profectus is seeking multiple experienced Infrastructure Engineers to support the delivery and sustainment of secure ICT environments within an Australian Government agency. You will implement, manage and retire the infrastructure that supports digital services, including physical, virtual, network and cloud platforms. The work covers system builds and automation, patching and upgrades, monitoring, fault resolution and secure configuration.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement infrastructure solutions that are scalable, secure and compliant with agency requirements
- Configure, sustain and optimise Linux based infrastructure across servers, network devices and virtual platforms
- Perform installation and de-installation of hardware and software items
- Automate system builds, configuration and deployment using tools such as Ansible
- Apply patches, updates and vendor mitigations across applications, drivers, operating systems and firmware
- Monitor system performance and security, and respond to faults and degradation
- Maintain reliability through configuration automation, upgrades, monitoring and version control
- Resolve complex and non-routine technical issues in line with established policies and procedures
- Provide advice and guidance to make best use of available assets and improve the installation service
- Maintain technical documentation, configuration baselines and version controlled repositories
- Contribute to continuous improvement of systems development processes and practices
Required Experience
- Demonstrated experience configuring and sustaining Linux based ICT infrastructure, including servers and network devices
- Experience with system monitoring and authentication services
- Experience using automation tools such as Ansible to prepare and replicate system builds
- Demonstrated experience maintaining the reliability of ICT infrastructure, including patching, upgrades, monitoring and version control
- Experience working within secure or tightly governed ICT environments
- Ability to work independently and as part of an integrated technical team
Desirable Experience
- Experience with Cross Domain Solutions, including support of existing solutions and development of new capability
- Scripting and small program development in Python or Bash to automate processes and integrate security tools and appliances
- Experience with virtualisation, storage and networking technologies
Security Clearance Requirements
- Must be an Australian Citizen
- Must have a current TSPV Security Clearance
