Description
SAIC is seeking a Linux Systems Engineer capable of working with contractors, government personnel, and subject matter experts focusing on creating and recognizing targeting opportunities and strategies in the cyber-realm. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, excel in independent and small-team environments, and demonstrate strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities with minimal supervision. This is an onsite position located in Arlington, VA, with flexible options.
Daily tasks may include
- Supporting a variety of networks and systems in a mission-critical enterprise environment.
- Operate independently or small-team environments, providing technical solutions through critical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.
- Proactively seek out opportunities to learn new skills, technologies, and share knowledge with junior team members.
- Takes initiative to find, prioritize, and execute on tasks to include, but not limited to, systems administration, systems automation, security audits, and patch management.
- Professionally communicate with a mixed audience of both junior and senior technical peers, senior leadership, and government officials.
- Bachelors and 9 years or more experience. Masters and 7 years or more experience. Or 13 years of experience in lieu of degree.
- Active Security+ or CISSP certification.
- Recent, hands on, and in-depth experience working with RedHat Enterprise Linux and RedHat OpenShift.
- Recent, hands on, and in-depth experience managing, maintaining, and automating RHEL infrastructure.
- Strong ability to diagnose and resolve system performance issues.
- Recent, hands on, and in-depth experience utilizing virtualization and containerization technologies such as Vmware, KVM, or Docker.
- Intermediate to advanced experience with scripting language(s) – Bash and Python preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced experience with automation tools – Ansible preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced experience with networking technologies, protocols, and troubleshooting.
- Familiar with managing and maintaining development or AI infrastructure.
- Familiar with monitoring and logging tools, platforms, or systems.
- Familiar with modern security standards and best practices such as DISA STIGS or CIS Benchmarks.
- Familiarity with Mac OSX and Apple products.
- Familiarity with Deep Web and Dark Web at the technical level.
- Familiarity with VPN technologies, protocols, and implementations at the technical level.
- RedHat Certified Engineer (RHCE).
- RedHat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA),
- CompTIA Linux+.
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Active TS/SCI.
- Active CI Polygraph preferred.
- Ability to obtain a CI Polygraph.
