System Engineer

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with real production infrastructure, Linux and Windows servers, system and networking technologies, monitoring and troubleshooting, as well as participate in the maintenance, upgrade and continuous improvement of critical IT systems.
What The Position Offers
- Administration and maintenance of Linux and Windows servers and systems
- Work with production and highly available IT infrastructure
- System performance, availability and capacity monitoring
- System and application log analysis
- Troubleshooting and resolution of system, infrastructure and connectivity issues
- L2 support for production payment environments
- Deployment, configuration and maintenance of applications and middleware
- Management of users, permissions, processes, services and system resources
- Work with networking technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS and HTTP/HTTPS
- Support for backup, disaster recovery, patching and security activities
- Configuration and maintenance of monitoring and alerting mechanisms
- Scripting and automation using Bash, PowerShell
- Participation in incident, problem and change management processes
- Work with virtualization technologies and infrastructure tools
- Collaboration with Development, Network, Database, Security and Application Support teams
- Participation in infrastructure projects, upgrades and continuous improvement activities
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field
- 2+ years of professional experience in System Administration, System Engineering or a similar position
- Good knowledge of Linux and/or Windows Server
- Good understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS and basic firewall technologies
- Practical experience with system monitoring and log analysis
- Experience with application servers and basic knowledge of databases
- Knowledge of Bash, PowerShell
- Experience with virtualization technologies, particularly VMware
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Ability to independently investigate and resolve technical issues
- Ability to work effectively as part of a technical team
- Good written and spoken English
- Experience in the payments, banking or fintech industry
- Knowledge of POS, ATM or payment-processing systems
- Experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL or MS SQL
- Experience with cloud technologies
- Knowledge of PCI DSS and payment-security principles
- Experience with enterprise monitoring and logging tools
- Experience working with high-availability and disaster-recovery environments
- Relevant certifications in system administration, networking, virtualization or cloud technologies
