The Universal Banking Finastra Cloud is supported by a global cloud infrastructure leveraging Microsoft Azure technologies, system integrators and solution partners delivering Finastra Universal Banking solutions intended for the highest level of security, performance and operating excellence.
Application Technical Operations group will be responsible for monitoring and administrating end-to-end Cloud Core Banking solution for multiple customers around the world, ensuring Infrastructure & Application monitoring, implementing planned activities to upgrade the applications working collaboratively with multiple technical groups from Product, DevOps, Global Services and Customer Support.
Responsibilities
As an AppOps System Engineer - Database Administrator, your key responsibilities will include:
- Database Installation and Administration: Install, configure, and manage databases in live environments.
- Performance Tuning: Fine-tune database performance to ensure optimal operation and efficiency.
- Monitoring: Continuously monitor database health and performance, identifying and resolving issues proactively.
- Infrastructure Management: Deploy and manage Linux Azure Virtual Machines (Linux RHEL 8.x, 9.x) and PaaS services (storage accounts, key vaults, PostgreSQL Flexi Server) using DevOps pipelines.
- Application Operations: Install and configure new releases, service packs, patches, and hot-fixes for Core Banking Solutions via Azure DevOps pipelines.
- Incident and Event Management: Investigate and troubleshoot technical issues and incidents in live or implementation client environments, ensuring timely resolution and adherence to SLAs. Team member of the production support 24/7 for any production issue raised by Clients.
- Service Reviews: Participate in periodic service reviews, providing updates and recommendations for improvements.
- Knowledge Management: Create, review, and update knowledge-based articles in the Application Operations repository.
- Proactive Monitoring: Collect and evaluate database performance metrics, providing feedback to Product & QA teams.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Universal Banking business units to enhance monitoring practices and service improvements.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
- Experience: Solid hands-on experience in public cloud infrastructure and services (preferably Microsoft Azure).
- Technical Skills:
- Solid experience with Oracle databases, specifically Oracle version 19c.
- Proficiency with Windows and Linux operating systems (RHEL 8.X, 9.X).
- Good knowledge or hands-on experience with PostgreSQL.
- Knowledge of IT operations, High Availability, Zone Redundancy, and Disaster Recovery architectures.
- Basic networking knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with scripting languages: PL/SQL, Python, Bash.
- Experience with DevOps technologies, preferably Azure DevOps.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Customer-centric mindset with a focus on service delivery.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
