Senior Application Support Engineer (Linux, Scripting & SQL)
A Global Financial Service Broker / Exchange are looking for a technically strong Application Support Engineer to work alongside trading and quant teams on business-critical systems.
Role focus:
- Deep-dive troubleshooting across Linux-based applications
- Identify root cause of performance and data issues
- Automate operational processes through scripting
- Support highly available, real-time trading environments
Core skills:
- Advanced Linux knowledge (file systems, permissions, processes, networking basics)
- Scripting experience (Bash and/or Python)
- Strong SQL (data analysis + query optimisation)
- Experience supporting trading / financial systems preferred
- Monitoring & alerting tools (ITRS/Geneos) beneficial
We are specifically seeking engineers with strong technical depth, not purely functional support backgrounds.
