Analyzes and evaluates existing and proposed systems; plans and develops computer solutions; and provides system management support.
Pursuant to the State of Texas Executive Order No. GA-48, this position researches, works on, or has access to critical infrastructure and requires the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the University infrastructure. This position requires personnel be routinely reviewed to determine whether or not criminal history or continuous connections for the government or political apparatus of a foreign adversary might prevent the employee from being able to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure.
- Analyzes, develops and maintains electronic information systems for a major university function or program.
- Interfaces with users to identify needs and oversees the preparation and compilation of resulting data and reports.
- Trains staff to use computers and the implemented system; instructs clerical staff on system use.
- Develops long-range planning of software/hardware purchases and developments; recommends all hardware, software and peripheral purchases.
- May supervise data entry and computing support personnel; designs new processes and procedures for maximum utilization of human resources.
- Administers and modifies database; performs systems analysis to ensure data integrity; designs all new computing processes; develops implementation procedures and schedule of new automated tasks.
- Represents the department with other administrative offices concerning system modification.
- May lead lower-level systems analysts.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Maintain, update, and support the REDCap server environment
Perform system upgrades, Synology backups, and recovery testing to ensure data integrity and availability
Serve as administrator for EMS and/or SimIQ systems used for scheduling, simulation, or operational workflows
Package, deploy, and maintain applications using Microsoft Intune
Design, deploy, and manage file server solutions, including permissions, quotas, and access controls
Administer ExamSoft software, including system configuration, user access, and permissions
Administer SPSS software licensing, deployment, and version management
Experience Will Be Considered In Lieu Of Education.
Education will be considered in lieu of experience.
MQ: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience.
