Position Overview
We are seeking a Unix/Linux System Administrator to design, implement, maintain, and support highly available and scalable enterprise infrastructure environments. The successful candidate will have strong experience managing UNIX/Linux systems, server and containerized environments, SAN storage, and SAN Fabric switches across diverse infrastructure platforms.
This role involves developing infrastructure designs and documentation, maintaining system configurations, supporting enterprise system resiliency, and collaborating with technical teams to ensure secure, reliable, and high-performing IT environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, implement, and maintain UNIX/Linux infrastructure environments.
- Develop system design specifications that meet infrastructure, operational, security, and availability requirements.
- Prepare general and detailed infrastructure designs, evaluating alternative approaches where appropriate.
- Develop specifications for servers, operating systems, storage, networks, security systems, databases, and communication systems.
- Create structured diagrams and technical documentation for infrastructure, network, storage, and security environments.
- Compile, maintain, and document system configurations, including servers, operating systems, monitoring tools, utilities, and communication systems.
- Develop and maintain operational, installation, configuration, and support procedures.
- Establish guidelines and upgrade procedures for operating systems, hardware, network systems, security systems, and client-server environments.
- Design, test, and maintain highly available and resilient enterprise infrastructure environments.
- Support infrastructure enhancements, upgrades, changes, and implementation activities in collaboration with technical teams.
- Design and maintain system monitoring, audit trails, logging, and security mechanisms.
- Provide technical assistance and escalation support for complex infrastructure, system, database, and IT issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system performance, availability, configuration, and integration issues.
- Perform infrastructure testing, evaluation, and validation to ensure operational readiness.
- Implement, configure, and maintain SAN storage and SAN Fabric environments across multiple storage platforms.
- Collaborate with infrastructure engineers, system administrators, developers, support teams, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate technical, operational, and user documentation.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of professional experience in infrastructure administration, systems administration, or a related IT field.
- Strong hands-on experience building, configuring, and supporting highly available and scalable infrastructure environments.
- Strong experience managing and maintaining UNIX/Linux operating systems.
- Experience supporting Linux server and containerized environments.
- Experience with infrastructure design, configuration management, and enterprise systems support.
- Experience designing or supporting three-tier infrastructure architectures.
- Experience with SAN storage and SAN Fabric switches across multiple storage platforms.
- Experience developing and maintaining technical, operational, installation, and user documentation.
- Understanding of infrastructure availability, resiliency, monitoring, security, and performance requirements.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and technical documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise UNIX/Linux environments.
- Experience with high-availability, disaster recovery, and infrastructure resiliency solutions.
- Experience with container platforms and containerized infrastructure.
- Experience with SAN administration, storage provisioning, and storage connectivity.
- Experience with infrastructure monitoring, logging, and system performance analysis.
- Familiarity with automation, scripting, and configuration management tools.
- Experience working in structured IT operations, change management, and support environments.
