🚀 Test Automation Engineer | Cypress / Playwright & Postman | Enterprise Migration Platform
🌍 Remote | 📄 B2B Contract |
We are looking for an experienced Test Automation Engineer to join our client's technology engineering team driving a critical platform migration. This high-impact project focuses on replacing an existing journalist reporting and payment calculation platform with an advanced, modern MARS-based application.
You will take ownership of setting up and scaling quality automation across UI and API layers, operating within a lean-documentation environment where you define test coverage from code and user stories, evaluate framework consolidations, and establish robust CI/CD quality gates.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Designing, building, and maintaining test automation frameworks from scratch across UI and API layers.
- Implementing UI automation using JavaScript-based frameworks (Cypress or Playwright).
- Automating API testing using Postman collections executed via Newman directly within CI/CD pipelines.
- Evaluating and consolidating UI and API test automation into a single, cohesive framework.
- Driving exploratory and manual testing alongside automation to ensure complete feature coverage in a fast-paced delivery cycle.
- Extracting test requirements directly from Jira tickets, code documentation, and Confluence epics without relying on traditional legacy specs.
- Collaborating closely with cross-functional Java/React engineering squads to advocate for quality and justify automation architectural decisions.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong commercial experience as a Test Automation Engineer .
- Proven track record of building and evolving automated testing frameworks from scratch.
- Deep expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript test ecosystems.
- Familiarity with backend architectures (Java backends, cloud-native services) to quickly navigate code and identify edge cases.
- Consultant mindset: Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain, justify, and champion automation strategy to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Self-starter attitude comfortable navigating greenfield spaces and limited documentation.
Must-Haves:
- Hands-on test automation expertise with Cypress or Playwright (or comparable JavaScript frameworks).
- Strong experience in API testing with Postman and automated CI/CD execution via Newman.
- Solid proficiency in JavaScript with basic familiarity with Java.
- Proven experience combining manual and automated testing strategies effectively.
- Excellent English communication skills for daily cross-border collaboration.
Nice to Have:
- Hands-on exposure to cloud architectures and services (AWS, Lambda, SQS, Azure).
- Practical experience working with Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) workflows and Gherkin syntax.
Location & Working Setup:
- 100% Remote working model (Latvia/Lithuania).
If you are an automation engineer who thrives on owning frameworks end-to-end and driving modern testing standards on enterprise platforms, apply today or reach out directly to connect!
