An exceptionally well-funded quantum technology startup is seeking a VP of Corporate Strategy & Operations to work directly with senior leadership and help shape the future of a business operating at the forefront of scientific innovation.

This is not a traditional corporate planning role.

You will be a trusted partner to the executive team, leading critical company-wide initiatives across strategy, operations, fundraising, financial planning, organizational scaling, capital investment, government-backed projects, and operational excellence.

What You'll Be Doing

Strategic Planning & Fundraising

• Develop business, operational and financial plans aligned to R&D and commercial milestones
• Support fundraising activities, investor engagement and capital planning
• Drive budgeting, resource allocation and investment prioritisation
• Manage strategic projects linked to grants, subsidies and large-scale innovation programs

Executive Decision Support

• Identify, structure and solve complex business challenges
• Build KPI frameworks and management reporting systems
• Provide data-driven recommendations to executive leadership
• Prepare strategic analyses that support critical business decisions

Scaling Operations

• Design and implement scalable business processes
• Lead initiatives across procurement, systems, compliance and internal operations
• Select and deploy SaaS platforms and operational infrastructure
• Improve governance, workflows and organisational effectiveness

Cross-Functional Leadership

• Work across scientific, engineering, finance and business teams
• Build alignment amongst stakeholders with diverse priorities
• Drive projects from concept through execution and measurable outcomes

What We're Looking For

Essential Experience

• Experience leading strategic, operational or organisational initiatives
• Strong problem-solving and structured thinking skills
• Ability to convert ambiguity into actionable plans
• Experience influencing senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams
• Background in:
• Corporate Strategy
• Corporate Planning
• Business Operations
• Strategy Consulting
• Chief of Staff functions
• Startup Operations
• Venture-backed technology companies

Preferred Experience

• Business-level English & fluent Japanese
• Strong financial literacy and understanding of corporate finance
• Experience with fundraising, investment planning or venture-backed businesses
• Exposure to deep-tech, technology, science-led or R&D environments
