Our client is a mechanical engineering contractor delivering projects across the pharmaceutical, biotech and semiconductor sectors. They are recruiting a Construction Manager to lead the mechanical delivery on a large scale semiconductor project in Leixlip, Co. Kildare. Reporting to the Project Director, you will manage a team of engineers and supervisors to deliver the works safely, to programme and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Take day to day responsibility for health and safety on the project, implementing company safety management procedures
- Ensure method statements, risk assessments, safe plans of action and client permits are in place for all relevant tasks
- Plan all aspects of the works from initiation through execution to closure, covering materials, subcontract packages and craft requirements
- Manage the site supervision team, including engineers and craft supervisors
- Develop the constructability report and project schedule alongside the scheduler, engineers and foremen
- Establish subcontractor execution plans with the QS, from work scopes and tendering through to controlling cost, schedule, quality and safety
- Liaise with workshops on prefabrication planning, including prioritisation, testing and documentation
- Produce weekly and monthly progress reporting to the client
- Work with Quantity Surveyors on cost management, variations, reworks and negotiation
- Inspect works for compliance with safety requirements, technical specifications and design
- Work with QA/QC to ensure compliance with standards and client specifications
- Oversee the assembly of handover packages
Requirements
- Minimum 5 to 7 years' experience as a Construction Manager
- Mechanical construction experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, semiconductor or oil and gas
- Experience of equipment installation, piping fabrication, piping installation and pressure testing on site
- Degree in Construction, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent preferred
- Proficient in Navisworks or similar
- Management of Safety in Construction (MSIC) desirable
